Please send Freddie here! We have seen Ratty, on and off, in the daytime for about three weeks. He is quite small, a juvenile I suppose, but I have had to stop feeding the birds. Ratty climbed up the pergola and into the "squirrel proof" seed feeder..... yes I mean right into it, and was enjoying a good lunch. I couldn't believe it. The squirrels can't get right into it. I looked on Amazon for a rodent solution, and since have receive from Amazon repeated rat killing offers. My cat is hopeless. If he did catch a rat he would bring it home alive, like he does the mice!!

We have 4 cats, and get rodents brought home regularly. They're mostly mice, which are frequently alive. We do get the very occasional rat, but these (fortunately) are invariably dead. My rationale for this is that (unlike mice) rats are big enough to fight back, and therefore have to be 'subdued' before they can be brought home. As for birds, the numbers are small: - but the variety is definitely not. They have caught just about everything from a Wren to an adult Herring Gull!

OOOH I think two cats would be required, however although I would be delighted to meet Freddie and Monty but I fear that Murrie would not be so keen.
