My Tax renewal envelope arrived yesterday and I am thinking of using the holder as a place to place Parking Tickets, is this a good idea .... or not ?

poole and Bournemouth councils have been issuing parking fines to blue badge holders even if like me they have a tax exempt car as at the moment they have no way of telling as they do not have machines capable of telling the councils parking wardens so they asked last week in the daily echo local paper that anybody who has a tax exempt tax disc would they please leave them in the cars even when out of date so that the wardens would not give you a ticket.

Doesn't it say you have to put the Parking Ticket on the dashboard? I wouldn't put it in the disk holder if I were you, any excuse to fine you!!!!!!

I bought a new car in October and it never came with a tax disc, so I never had to consider whether to throw the old disc away or not.

I chucked the one on my car away when I had to have a new windscreen. The one on Trish's will go at the end of this month.

Actually I'm lying. I took mine off my car but kept it as a memento of the old days. I'll actually throw it away in about five years when I realise it's just a piece of worthless paper!

Same here Merv.

I'm just biding my time until they start appearing on Antiques Road Show. Somehow I don't think I'll be around then :)

Why don't you clip them to the wall astride the stairs alongside your old 78s

Take no notice of them Merv they're only jealous.

There's nothing wrong with flying ducks and 78's. Would you be interested in seeing my catalogue of Toby jugs and train spotting number :geek:

My answer would be no. It is their problem to handle this and it is not as if this came in overnight - there was plenty of advance warning. If the council cannot get its act together then they will just have to suffer the consequences of dealing with all of the appeals.

that's fine David but then you have all the trouble of proving you have a tax exempt car to remove the fine surely easier to do what they say until they get in machines that can get in touch with dvla to find out.
