Nicknames
Just wondering if any of my furom friends have had a nickname, whether now or in the past?
I've had two that l can recall.....the first was the 'Milky Bar Kid' then in my footballing days l used to be known as 'sniffer'.
Are you brave enough to tell us what yours was?
Regards
keith

Re: Nicknames
On my first ship the Captain nicknamed me 'Claude'. I have also been 'Neversweat', and 'Marvin' after the paranoid android. None of them very complimentary, but hey ho.

Re: Nicknames
When I played a lot of football, I played mainly up front.
My nickname by the other players was Shotshy due to my inability to score from outside the box.
We also had a goalkeeper nicknamed Dracula because he was terrified of crosses.

Re: Nicknames
You know all mine - Sicknote (due to football injuries) & Menace (due to my name) related nicknames are years old but seemed the obvious choices when thinking up online user names and book titles.
With me growing a beard since the turn of the year I seem to have acquired a new one - Bill Oddie !?!

In my early nursing days, my friends used to call me Betty, shortened from Betty Bacon - my middle name is Elizabeth and my Maiden name was Gammon.
And even worse, as a child, our next door neighbour used to call me Gilly Pom! I HATED that one!

Re: Nicknames
try being named Margaret.....
Maggie, Mags, Maggot, Mig ( what my Dad called me. my fave - which is where Meg came from when I needed a screen name), Margie (hated that one, but it was a friend's dad so I had to lump it), Meggles
fish face ( my brothers)
4 eyes
Mac ( my initials embroidered on all my school stuff)
Clem, Clementine - derived from my maiden surname
Derek ( cos someone thought I looked a bit like Derek Nimmo - it stuck when I showed her a photo of one of my brothers who looked even more like DN!)

Re: Nicknames
Mine goes back to school days when all the lads had 'O' put on the back of their name i.e. Tommo,Davo and so on.
My name is Ray Bilbie so I was either called Raybo or Bilbo or sometimes Bil for short.
These names have stuck with me with variations like SailorBil when I took up sailing and now Raybosailor

There are worse things to be called. At college, one poor chap had the most dreadful acne. His poor face was a mass of large blue spots. he treated them every day with cleaner, and all the other students called him "Sturgene".
