Useful tips (non cruise)

Unread post by Silver_Shiney »

What little tips do you have to make odd jobs easier?

I was informed this morning that some little snot had sprayed graffiti on the office nameplate. I hadn't noticed it, apparently it's been there for some time. I was told to spray deodorant onto it.

The graffiti wiped straight off!

Ironing is much more pleasant if you have a couple of wines and watch rubbish tele like Wife Swap whilst you do it.

If you are decorating, don't clean the brushes out at the end of every session (or at the end of every day) if you are going to use them again in a day or so - wrap them in ordinary clingfilm (and that applies to paint rollers too).

A wife that drinks my wine while watching Wife Swap ? I would swap the wife for one that stayed sober and got on with the ironing!!!
Only joking dear, where did you say the iron was ?.

Spray a little Mr. Sheen furniture polish on squeaky door hinges, instant results and does not stain like oil or grease. It is also great for lubricating and cleaning curtain tracks, be careful though you might throw yourself out of the window first time you draw the curtains they run so much faster.

if your fan/drive belt on your car squeals every time you pull away, give the inside of the belt a quick spray of WD40. Instant silence.

Failing that, tighten or renew the belt.

Stardrops in your window cleaning water works better than anything else.

A quick spray is all that's needed, not the whole tin

How to make your underwear last longer between washes!

Just turn them inside out after the first week. Sorted

Stardrops is an old window cleaners secret but you have to search for it these days, the last time I bought any was from Wilko's only a drop in the bucket so it lasts ages.

That's where I got mine. True, it's not easy to find but coupled with my Karcher window squeegee it leaves the glass streak free and you don't have dozens of bubbles to contend with.

Just checked online and it is still available in Wilko's £1.00 a bottle, Just a quick warning it is a bit strong so if you have sensitive skin like our Gert you are advised to wear rubber gloves.
I give our shower cubicle a good clean down with it now and then and it comes up so clear that I try to walk through the closed door ouch!!.
And I don't want any should av gone to Specsavers quotes either.
