According to an article in the New Scientist consultation is well underway as to whether they should reintroduce the Lynx back into the border regions of Scotland. The reasoning behind this move is partly due to the deer not having any natrual preditors therfore the reintroduction of the Lynx would help keep deer numbers under control. The introduction of the Eurasion lynx (largest of its kind) has quite a good appetite for deer and don't mind tucking into some Fox should their paths cross.
I can't see any harm with a few Lynx roaming our forests....especially if they keep them all up in Cumbria
What say you?
