I hope the BBC scrap the whole programme it's the same thing every week, a group of idiots driving overpriced cars like maniacs, it's little wonder that there are so many half wits on our roads driving about in a dangerous manner.
I don't go with Formula One racing either, when I hear comments about the skills of the drivers it makes me p**s, if they were skilled they wouldn't come off the track so regular.
The artic driver reversing a fourty foot trailer and unit into a tight loading bay. THAT'S SKILL
The emergency services driving at high speed to an incident in bad weather. THAT'S SKILL
Why can we (if we want to) buy a car that will do 160 mph + when the maximum speed limit is 70 and that's if the road is clear enough to do it.

My old Zafira can get me down to Southampton in three and half hours, how long does it take in a Lamborghini ? First correct answer wins a pint in the Crows Nest on Azura 8th May.

Like Merv I confess to liking JC and his Top Gear, but I have to admit I rarely watch it nowadays. It is always fairly similar, whatever mad cap schemes they are doing, and like Raybosailer I think the cars they test drive are seldom ones that interest me, in fact they generally go out of their way to ridicule the type of C class mini MPV vehicles that I have on my shopping list.
But if BBC World are showing Top Gear while I am cruising at a time I am in the cabin, I will still watch and enjoy it.

I like Top Gear, but do only tend to watch it when they are doing one of their adventures/races.

Perhaps more pertinently, Where in a Lamborghini would you put the luggage needed for a fortnight's cruise? We too have a Zafira - and my OH damn near fills that with the amount of luggage she likes to take.)

Not knowing all the cercumstances surrounding this story but unless the other chap raised his hand to Clarkson then it's assault...appologies are meaningless if you keep making mistakes....and lets face it, he's made quite a few this past couple of years.

Same here mariner when we did our Caribbean on Arcadia we had six cases and two travel bags for 23 nights. We stayed overnight in Southampton and it was a bit awkward when we were going up in the lift to the fourth floor then the lift stopped on the second floor where a lady from room service was waiting to board. When we were able to go to our cabin on Arcadia I stood at the lift and fetched our own cases as the cabin steward was a slip of a girl about six stone wet through and I couldn't stand and watch her struggle with that lot.

It's all been blown out of proportion.

So someone got a smack in the mouth, get over it and move on.

Seems that progress has finally been made, well done the Beeb ... you have shown him who the boss really is.

Not bothered re the rights or wrongs of the situation, but personally think It is a backward step, one which will cost the BBC millions of £s.

For me that's the end of Top Gear as Jeremy Clarkson was Top Gear, it was him who took it from being a nothing programme, to having a world wide audience of over 350 million.

They will never get anybody to replace him without changing the whole philosophy of the programme, and nobody who would be able to attract the same viewing figures.

A sad day for top gear as a programme, as for JC I guess he will be off to pastures new, probably together with May & Hammond.

Hee hee, even my husband doesn't like Top Gear and he's a car enthusiast. He won't watch it as he dislikes Clarkson.

It's Top Gear, not the Clarkson Show - I'm sure most of said 350 million will get over it !!
