Long before that we had a good old Brit called Elton John, he spent 3 million on a whole team that eventually got us promoted to the 1st Division but that sort of money will now only buy a squad player from the Foxes and even then not a very good one.

Lloyd Dyer ... was so good that we in turn gave him away to Tranmere or some such where he can only manage to play the last 10 minutes every fourth week
ps ... did he used to smoke ?
pps .... Deeney's price is up to 20 million now

Late equaliser at Bournemouth so the Hornets are top of the league .... for the coming week
.... and a win for Barney too but Huddersfield vs Derby has to be ' the ' match of the day.

We got lucky yesterday. I turned it off before extra time and went for a curry.
We didn't look interested and let Reading dictate everything.

Extremely lucky but I would certainly prefer to watch Arsenal on a good day in the final than Reading who, let's face it, have done sod all of note all season.

Re: Football 2014/15
Great Manager, no doubt about that
but his biggest test will surely be next year, when they are ( or should be ) in the Prem.
AFC Bournemouth themselves however are raising a few eyebrows at the moment due to their ' reported ' theatrical and some say feigned fouls for free kicks in goal scoring positions. Generally just the once and usually to coincide with the scoring of their first goal. Fifteen penalty awards, for example, so far this season is far more than most teams manage.
It was briefly discussed on the Footy League Show this past weekend ... tis tantamount to cheating if true, point docking should apply if proven.

Blimey, I think we went 2 whole seasons without a single one, a few years ago.Manoverboard wrote:Great Manager, no doubt about thatbut his biggest test will surely be next year, when they are ( or should be ) in the Prem.

Don't shoot the messenger Jolly G
Could be an unfortunate set of coincidences of course although I did witness, courtesy of TV broadcasts, a couple of dodgy examples during Hornet fixtures, ironically involving the same Watford player ... two red cards plus a penalty and a free kick for ' fouls ' committed by a Watford player yet both were rescinded.
Actually it is an interesting point, you know a tad about the beautiful game so watch them carefully in the final third and then decide for yourself if the tactics adopted are genuine or if they are perhaps designed to fool the poor old ref.
ps ... good luck in the Prem, we are of course hoping to join you

Re: Football 2014/15
The rugby union guys seem to have the problem of cheating sorted with their fourth official and his slow motion replays. For me cheating has no place in the modern game.
Has anybody noticed how it now seems acceptable for defenders to literally manhandle the attacking team at corners? Some of them are not even looking at the ball or where it's coming from. Since when did that become legal?

Re: Football 2014/15
An excellent result for the Foxes yesterday...the great escape is definitely possible.
Town had a typical day yesterday.... bossed the game, right up to the point that Blackburn scored twice! Jordan Rhodes scoring yet against against us - I think that's 6 goals in 4 games since we sold him!
We showed some resilience however, and fought back for a 2-2 draw, which on balance was a fair result. If we avoid defeat at Blackpool next week then we will have finished the season with 7 games unbeaten - which would be a huge positive to take into the close-season.

Well done Moby
Supping at the top table now.
The Fox's escape is definitely on now and well done to them for sticking with Pearson.

Congratulations to Bournemouth, not mathematically promoted but effectively they are now Premier League.
