What about those who have had their three score and ten, but didn't enjoy it?

Can I just make it clear that, while I initiated the thread, I didn't set up the poll, which I find rather embarrassing.

Don't worry Lord Shiney, your lead is slowly slipping away. You'll soon be as unpopular as the real candidates for the job.Silver_Shiney wrote:Can I just make it clear that, while I initiated the thread, I didn't set up the poll, which I find rather embarrassing.

A slip up on my part there QB, add them to the list. You have to have something to fall back on just in case the human rights bods step in and spoil things

Hi Mr Shinny aka (PM in waiting)
Nick was the chap who some say did the right thing for the country at the last elections, some however would say he sold out his party and the electorate for a taste of power.
Either way its a shame really as I do think the Lib-Dems were the good between the bad and the ugly and would if they had held out for another five years be in the driving seat to form the next Government.
What is your best guess for the making up the next coalition....I was thinking Conservative/lib-Dem with 10 seats from UkIP to help them along the way.
I'm putting a tenner on whatever combination you suggest....i you get it wrong you'll be back on the back benches before you know it.
Regards
Keith

Re: If I was Prime Minister...
Hi Keith
I am not betting man.
While I think it would be disastrous for the country, I understand that the smart money is on a Labour/SNP coalition. I would prefer to see the Conservatives back in power but I don't see how they can form a coalition with any party/parties to form a working majority.
Frankly, I have no confidence in any of the "professional" politicians, regardless of party (possibly with the exception of Frank Field - he strikes me as a decent man, and Jack Lopresti), and don't see how Farage (not that he's got a chance of winning) or "most" of the other amateurs could make a bigger faux-pas of things. I'd give them a chance, 'cos, in my book, the others have proved they're not up to the task.
As for me being back on the back benches PDQ, I wouldn't even have me in the building!

Hi Mr Shinny,
It really is a sad state of affairs when the electorate is left with no options other than to vote for the least damaging coalition.....
For me the best of two evils would be a labour/Conservative coaliton with both leaders stepping aside .

The turnout's better than most constituencies too.
Will you be sending taxis to pick us up if we're late voting Shiney?

Re: If I was Prime Minister...
one of my favourite election stories (probably apochryphal)
the canvassers arranged transport for a little old lady, and when she came out of the station she said,
"Thank you for the lift. I wanted to vote for that nice Mr Churchill, but his name wasn't on the list, so I voted for the King instead"
Mr King was the communist candidate!
