Only it is not true, a load of rubbish. p&o have flatly denied it.

Why would the company sell to a UK based cruise line when 2 to 5 hundred + cruisers would go over with the ship each cruise. Not going to happen.

They would hardly admit it at this stage. We had a cruise cancelled when they sold Adonia. They had denied that too.

As long as they do not sell her before January 2016. We are on her in December.

The site looks kosher and they seem to have Splendour OTS and Ryndam on their books as well, so maybe Oriana will be on the move soon.

As long as they wait until after February 2016 to sell her as I'm booked to cruise on her to the Caribbean start of January 2016.

I think the RCL ship is more likely to be Rhapsody of the seas from its launch date and passenger capacity, and Splendour is already headed to Thomson anyway; so goodbye Oriana.

I can understand why people might be sceptical but would they tell an outright lie if at some point in the nesr future it could be proved to be so?

Of course the ship will go up for sale at some time, but not yet. I Forcast 2019/20. They will also need a replacement. I do beleave some ships are being ordered by Carnival for 2019 delivery.

I should imagine selling a ship would take some time as cruise companies review their stock and plan their investment. However should somebody show an interest then it would not surprise me at all if they didn't offload Oriana. She seems to have more than her fair share of problems and Carnival may already have a replacement pencilled in, notwithstanding new builds in the forthcoming future.

I think you may be correct Foxy, I can see Carnival transferring one of HAL's older Vista class ships (Arcadia class) to P&O, this would effectively replace Oriana and allow them to order another of the new Pinnacle class for HAL which is one of Carnival's premier lines, unlike P&O.

I agree Foxy.

I think it's genuine and that P&O are just putting it out there to see if there are any takers.

I'd imagine that any deal would take some time to go through.

I know that Thompson have bought a RCI ship and after refit, will become their flagship.

Sorry Stephen, you are too late they have taken the advert down.

So either it is sold or it should not have been there in the first place.

I bought her. I'll be sending out brochures soon. I'm renaming her Ten Bob. She'll be formal dress every night, sunbeds assigned and reserved in order of booking, no children except our grandchildren, smokers allocated one of the lifeboats towed behind and moaners cast adrift in an open boat. The Captain's called Pugwash and the Entertainment Manager is ex-Folie Bergere. Any takers?

It was only minor navigational error. And we gave passengers £10 OBC. What's the problem?
