Match postponed
In my rugby watching career I've experienced a few late match postponements, all due to the weather.
Tonight Hull should have been entertaining Bradford at the KC Stadium with an 8pm kick off. The game was postponed at 8.15 because of a tanker crash closing the M62 30 miles from Hull. The funny bit is that the Bradford team actually managed to get to Hull, but the game was called off because Hull couldn't raise a team as a large contingent of their players who live in West Yorkshire were stuck in the jam caused by the accident.
So I put my long johns on for nothing!
Regards

The toasty feeling is quite divine....for about 30 mins until you start to overheat!

It's amazing the lengths that some teams will go to, to avoid another defeat!
Rob, ignore the comment from Wolfie.....you can't expect folks from south of Sheffield to understand the finer points of the game.

Dear Romig,
I don't mind. I'm a big enough chap to admit that I like both codes.....the beautiful game that is Rugby League.....and the mildly less beautiful game of kick and chase that is Rugby Union. Both have the distinct advantage of not being football!
Regards
Rob

Ruggerby league
stop...start..stop...start..stop..start etc etc
give the ball away to the opposition and repeat for 80 minutes
then do it all again next week, assuming the team can be arsed to turn up
woo hooo

Paul....I'm hoping for a postponment of today's match....or even better an abandonment (and 1 point each).

We were stuck in the Jam too, and to be honest so pleased it was postponed............ we have a 2 hour drive to Hull anyway so to miss a game would have been so disappointing. Like AOTH we enjoy both codes, but the beautiful game (for us) remains League. World Cup this year.............. tickets bought.............. so excited

We both know a chap who visited the KC last season to watch a Superleague game between Hull and Leeds. He was I think, well impressed. I think that chap was........Oh...I remember....you!

Sorry to hear that you were stuck in the jam Coble. We didn't leave the house until 7.30 because we'd heard it was delayed and then stayed in the car until we heard that it was off. At least you can go to the rearranged game on Sunday. I will be with Miss AOTH in Grimsby watching her in an ice skating competition.

Re: Match postponed
Can't argue with that old boy. Of course you do realise why Rugby Union is so popular with the fans...it is because they get to handle the ball more than the players.
My Dad often recounts a game of Rugby Union I played at school many moons ago. I was as a child much stouter than I am today and played prop. I won the man of the match in this game....and didn't touch the ball once!
Come on the Azurri!
With an up and an under or even a Gary Owen.
Regards
Rob

Many thanks AOTH - We travel just about every other Friday to Hull to watch the boys run out - only problem is we travel from that mecca of the North Middlesbrough!!! so sadly we are usually well held up in traffic before we realise it - we do stay over fairly often, just love the Airlie birds!
Hope you enjoy Grimsby -

A thread Rob, on the six nations. We are cluttering up the footie thread with our diversions.
What a win by Wales, away at that, and what a pathetic win by Eng er land today, not deserved at all.

It's amazing how sour the Welsh can get when they only have ONE win to their name.
I thought their match yesterday was likely to decide the wooden spoon, so I would have thought they would be happy??

Romig, at the risk of another warning,
and if they are not defeated before, we shall be there when they are, just like last year
