If money was no object where in the UK would you like to live.

We have plans to move to Shropshire next year, not that I particularly want to go there but it is somewhere that my wife has always wanted to live so I suppose I'll have to go with her...squeak squeak.

We'd love to live on the coast, overlooking a working port or harbour, or failing that beside a busy canal or river. In reality the money would be an issue because where we live is a relatively low cost area, which is great being here but means that any move would probably need a substantial downsize to stay in budget. But even if money wasn't a problem there are too many obstacles to moving for us - not least two lovely grandchildren, so unless the money was enough to take them, along with our daughter and son-in-law too, it won't happen.

Close to Southampton for obvious reasons but as a second choice probably somewhere like the North York Moors.

I am extremely happy living here in the UK's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty The Gower Peninsula. We have beautiful cliff walks right behind our house and although we do get quite a bit of rain, we also seem to have a micro climate as we have only had 2 frosts in the 2 1/2 years we have lived here!

The ONLY downside is the fact it takes 3 1/2 -4 hours to Southampton and Heathrow.

I am very happy with where we live now. Dont want to move elsewhere..just want to be together in our family home.....till we pop our clogs then maybe get scattered into the sea..in Bamburgh
In the past 15 ish years..Hubby and I have had our family home in Jarrow and a second place ..(RENTED) in Bedford, Caswell Bay, Windsor...and now Wetherby..a sweet one bedroom apartment.
Counting the months down till he retires..a fair few, but cant wait to only have one home.

We toy with the idea of the Isle of Wight, but realistically we'll probably stay here - we like our friends and the infrastructure here

Although we have our tin can in Wales I can't say I would particularly like to live in Wales as I find the weather so unpredictable, no let me rephrase that, the weather in Wales is very predictable as it seems to rain every other day when we are there.

If you could plonk me anywhere I wouldn't mind finding myself in the Yorkshire Dales. A nice little cottage nestled just outside one of the many villages would do me fine. If it had a stream running next to the property better still as I would love to go panning for gold even if there was none in there...bit like when I used to go sea fishing without any bait off the rocks in Cormwall. Still enjoyed it though.

Both me and my wife have decided where our ashes will be scattered..there's a little stone circle perched right on top of a hill close to the village of Priest Weston, we've walked there many times and thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent views it affords...if you're passing do drop in and say hello

I would appreciate it Endoflife If you would leave instructions for the funeral director to let me know what day your ashes are going to be scattered from pikey peak, I'll then try to remember not to get the BBQ out that day. Nothing worse than ash blowing all over your stuffed chicken breasts

Clearly the only place has to be Northumberland, with a flat in Southampton for the odd holiday or two or three. Nothing fancy. A bed a large wardrobe for cruise clothes and a washing machine. Might stretch to a table and chairs for the odd meal.
