I don't believe it !!!
I have been watching a thread on another site, in which the poster said they would never cruise with P&O again , due to the fact they only got luggage labels in the lead passenger's name and not the second passenger's name as well, which the OP blamed on cost cutting
the thread went on for some time with the OP , getting more and more irate and more and more disparaging about said cruise line
Which made me wonder:
What would get you so annoyed that you refused to cruise with a n other cruise line, ever again ?

Doesn't sound like the kind of person I would want to come across on holiday so he is doing me a big favour by boycotting P&O !

Re: I don't believe it !!!
Simply because there are a lot of compulsive moaners out there DK
I know a chap who manages to see the negative in everything.
If you said it's a lovely day, he'd say it will probably rain later.
In other words, he's happy being miserable.
When you look at some of the long faces in the boarding lounge pre cruise, you wonder why some of them bother at all.
Someone once said to me that the British love queuing and moaning
The reason they love to queue is that it gives them something to moan about.
To answer your question, nothing.
I've never had a really negative experience on any holiday I've ever had, anywhere.
Yes I've had airport hold ups and things go wrong but never enough to say never again

Re: I don't believe it !!!
Needs to get a life. If that's all he's got to moan about he's lucky. He should try following my football team!!!
I'm always staggered by the number of miseries you see on a cruise, or the little clusters having their moan-in. As qbman says, they will do all of us a favour by never cruising with P&O again - but I bet they do.
I can't think of anything about a cruise line which would get me so annoyed. If I didn't enjoy what they had on offer I wouldn't moan, I just wouldn't cruise with them again. Likewise, if the day comes when I don't enjoy cruising that's the day I stop.

Sounds like the sort of rubbish that makes FB so unappealing ...
If there comes a day when I arrive at the check-in desk to be told " Sorry, but this e-ticket is for a different Cruise Line and who's Passport is this anyway ? " .... well, then I would deffo never ever cruise with them again.
oH no, it would be time to head off to the Funny Farm ... OoH yes

I can't see where the relevance to FB is here? Yes, the thread was indeed in a FB group - but the OP could just as easily been a member of this, or any other, forum.Manoverboard wrote:Sounds like the sort of rubbish that makes FB so unappealing ...![]()

It was laughable though - the idea that the lack of individually named luggage tags would stop them cruising with P&O was hilarious..... I almost managed not to post a sarcastic reply

Norovirus and the increased odds of contracting a contagious virus in a concentrated and confined area . The odds are also increased by the transmission by crew members from one cruise to another . This is one of the disadvantages of cruising during the Winter months and passengers confined to inside recreation areas on sea days .

Re: I don't believe it !!!
What does it matter what name is on the label as long as the right cabin number is on it
I bet he wouldn't have been moaning if they'd upgraded him .. on second thoughts he probably would, that type would moan about anything

I confess I had a bit of a moan about an upgrade! They moved us to a higher cabin grade (just one up) but right by the glass lifts on Arcadia. I only whinged to P&O (not Facecloth) and they moved us back to the original cabin.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
I believe Romig was on the same cruise as me a few years ago when a Gent made a huge fuss because he was upgraded last minute from an outside to a balcony cabin but his cases had gone to his original cabin number.
I said to him, why don't you just go and get them
Not my bl**dy job, he replied.
I gave him a very wide berth after that as he had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp

Re: I don't believe it !!!
If a cruise line simply didn't deliver what it promised I'd probably go elsewhere. After all there is plenty of choice so we don't have to settle for something that doesn't suit. But I get p'd off with people who pay a mid range price then expect a top price experience, don't read the brochure and then gripe about the ship not having a facility it was never claimed to have, or demand the line changes something such as dress code because they don't personally like it and assume the majority who do are insane. But would a luggage label in my wife's name instead of mine, or vice versa do it. No.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
A couple of friends of mine have refused to cruise at all now that they have banned smoking on balconies… seems a bit extreme to me.
For me though, if a cruise line or ship is renown for having extreme bouts of NV then I would be dubious about going on it but then it is up to the cruisers to take all steps to protect themselves anyway. Mind you there are a lot of mucky devils about so you could catch it anywhere.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
I think the last part of your post is the most relevant Jack. NV is endemic in this country and no ship sailing out of the UK is more or less likely to be affected. Whether we know about it depends whether it hits the media or not so it wouldn't be a factor for us in choosing a ship. Even Buckingham Palace has had it.jacksparrow wrote:A couple of friends of mine have refused to cruise at all now that they have banned smoking on balconies… seems a bit extreme to me.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
I would possibly not cruise again with P&O if they got rid of Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana, and did not replace them with ship's of similar size and design. Otherwise I dont whinge, and I hate whingers. On our Sydney - Southampton we have a champion whinger in the next cabin. Worse he discovered that we live near to him. He spent hours on his balcony with his partner talking about the committee they were in which was complaining about the Captain not calling at Easter island It became a joke for us in the end.

I wouldn't sail with P&O again if ......
A.Prices became too high
B.Service and food quality went right down hill
C.Dress codes became too laxed
D.Tipping became mandatory
E.If I just got fed up with cruising
