Re: I don't believe it !!!
Yes I think E. is the most likely for us. I am a real ship anorak, but much as I love ships and the sea, after 10 years there is a kind of 'sameness' about it all, and a desire to try something else. It wouldn't be a whinge though, just voting with our feet. If I could I would do a Regent Seven Seas from Southampton to Barcelona with all those fabulous French and Spanish ports. However you can do a four month half worldie with P&O for the price Regent charge.
OBF has been telling me about Cunard...maybe if they have the right itinerary....

I do think that it is about time that they had more variation in places they visit instead of the usual suspects. I know that on my first ever cruise there were more ports aswell and now on a 17 day cruise you average 7. It even went as far as Ephesus but not nowadays. I think that the cost is going up for cruises and in some ways what you get is going downhill slightly but not enough to put me off yet.

There could be benefits of course. If it was my name only my stuff could go in the cases. If it was Trish's name only she would be allowed to carry them.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
What would make me 'jump ship' so to speak? Well ....... refusal to provide a special diet (when a cruise line advertises that it can accommodate this), poor attitude from staff, paying for a suite and not having the usual 'little extras' provided, inability to provide normal run-of-the-mill stuff due to running out of stock (food and drink - and just usual items), ragged bed linen, worn and poorly fitting curtains, malfunctioning balcony furniture, items advertised as being available and not provided despite several requests, dirty bathrooms, accommodation not properly cleaned - I think I'd better stop there.
One thing going awry I think I'd tolerate and treat it as an 'opportunity' and think outside the box, several things might get the better of me; but put it all together for several cruises in a row ......... then it's goodbye and thankyou time!
We all deserve (when we've paid the price) to have everything promised in the advertising and brochure. Anything less is not good enough.

I should imagine that if they have banned smoking on balconies it will release more balconies as previously smokers always opted for them .

Hi Jo and Gill W.
There's more - but I haven't got all day - and neither have you, bless you.
Onwards and upwards, counting down and happy.
We've quite often found the 'residents' of the grills a complete and utter bore - and have had a lovely time 'elsewhere' on the Queens - but that was then, this is now, and the present/future is very nice, thankyou.

Not a touch of sarcasm there in your first sentence is there Em, I wasn't aware you were privy to knowing how much time I might/might not have on my hands but you obviously have a much busier life than me.Boris+ wrote:Hi Jo and Gill W.

Interesting you say you have had a lovely time 'elsewhere' on the Queens, I recall you saying there were several places you had never ventured into but that was then and this is now and one can often forget what they have said

Lucky me. I can't afford to book the suites which apparently get me access to the places full of bores, so I have to confine my time to 'elsewhere' with the peasants!

Now now ladies.

Peasant grade, argh, I can but dream. That'd be an upgrade for me. I'm still in spit & Oik category, but we enjoy ourselves below stairs

Oh good grief Jo, I can't do right for doing wrong - or vice versa maybe?
Let it go, Jo - live and let live pretty please? There wasn't one iota of sarcasm in my post - it's something I'm not much good at, so I don't bother with it.
Currently though - if you don't like what I posted ..... well that's a shame, but you are entitled to your view I suppose; but...... I really don't care!

Not sure what you want me to let go Em, I wasn't aware I was hanging on to anything but if you wish to continue making statements which contradict things you have previously said please don't be surprised if they are pointed out to you, of course I am quite open to you proving me wrong if I am but one of the joys of the written word ... those words can always be found.Boris+ wrote:Oh good grief Jo, I can't do right for doing wrong - or vice versa maybe?

Is that a promise? Whooppee - by the way, didn't you know ...... everyone is entitled to change their minds, and that for your information includes me.
As to what would I like you to 'let go' - well nit-picking for starters.

You are not doing yourself any favours with comments like that.
Boris, maybe its a case of you just forget what you have said previously.. obviously not a mind changing thing at all.
Remember you were adamant you never used an ipad whilst in one of your suites.
But in fact you had in an earlier post, on another thread , said you did use one.
May I say its YOU who seem to be carrying this on.

Re: I don't believe it !!!
I have to wonder - don't you actually have anything better to do other than 'keep records of' or notes of reference to who has posted what and when? There's so much more out there, and I do wish you'd wake up and smell the coffee - you'd come across as much nicer if you did.
No, I repeat I have never used an ipad - it's a matter of principle. There may have been an ipad in a suite, but I didn't use it - well, not what I call 'use' anyway.
This forum is not repeat not a place for having a go at people for what they may or may not have posted earlier - it's not an exam. This forum (or so I thought) is a place for trying to be helpful and friendly .
No, I'm going to contradict you- it's not me who is carrying this on -- and here we are again, debating cause and effect before you know it.
By gosh I missed you Sue!

Well I can't be doing with news really when I'm on holiday, but the ipad brought along by the butler is sometimes used - and sometimes not.
I can remember on one cruise though, a woman who had been brought one of these ipads by the butler had to drag the blasted thing everywhere - just to show what grade of suite she was in! Yawn!
If we get one, it stays in the suite, and we don't use it much. The only 'news' as such that we are interested in is adequately provided on our own laptop - and it's family stuff really.
Em
Well there you go Boris...You might repeat you did not use the ipad....but you did...maybe not much... but you did.
Dont make me out to be the bad one here Boris.
YOU would come across MUCH nicer and sincere if you didnt keep contradicting things you have posted weeks and months ago.
There are not too many posters on this forum for those things to go unnoticed by quite a few on here, it has nothing to do with any record keeping etc.
As for being out there and smelling the coffee...oh belive me I am !!!
