Re: Help
Hi John
If you click the button that looks like a cog next to the new messages button it'll take you to your user profile. In there click the button that says manage subscriptions which will show all of the threads you've subscribed to, select all and click the 'unwatch' button.
When you're replying to a post there are a few options at the bottom of the text box, the last one of which is to receive a message when the thread is updated. If you untick this you won't receive any more emails.
Romig has posted a thread already about resizing photos in general chat which should help.

Re: Help
Email notifications - check which thread they are from and then go to that thread and at the very bottom of the page - LH side click on Unsubscribe this Topic.
Pictures - can be pain, there is a thread called Resizing Pictures and also information in the Thank You David topic.
I downloaded Picasa from Google and used that.
Hope this helps

Re: Help
Hi Romig1
I followed your link and managed to shrink a picture but when I try to upload it into my profile, I get an error saying the max size is 100 x 100 pixels and file size 6Kb. I can't get a photo down to 6Kb and at 50 x50 it's so small the content is blurred - and still bigger than 6Kb. You said you used 250 x 250.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
And for the Administrator...
When I joined I was told to expect an email for registration but never got it and yet I can set up posts and reply to others. Is that anything to do with why I'm getting the error above?
Rgds

Re: Help
Yippee!
With a bit of perseverance I've managed to set up an avatar as you can see! I followed Delboy's advice to use
http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
and it worked immediately.
Thanks Delboy!

Re: Help
It's knowing the size required that was foxing me there was no reference to the size mentioned ie 120x120, so in the end & gave up & just did the smallest. Being on Windows #8 hasn't helped.

Re: Help
If the resize has worked properly then the pic you used to resize will be at the smaller size, hover your mouse over that pic and the details should confirm 100 x 100 ... if ' Yes ' >>>GillD46 wrote:Yes I can resize it, but can't see where to paste the code for the resized pic.
Just couldn't work out how to add my own resized pic, so resorted to one from the gallery.
Cog / Profile > Edit avatar ..... click for a ' tick ' then Browse to that pic and hit Submit.
Ok ?
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Re: Help
Sorry, I do understand that bit, but what I can't seem to do is get the smalller pic to my iphotos on the iPad. It says it's smaller, but when I try and use it, I get the "too big" message.
I might have to try it on the laptop!
