Clever girl Gipsy
Before I relay to you what happened this morning I'll fill you in with a little background information first.
I've had Welsh Collies for most of my life and did go on to be very successful competing with them at Agility competitions, that was until until one fateful day when I endured a life changing injury which curtailed any hope of me ever competing with my dogs again. Anyway as the years pasted I slowly but surly lost each of my 4 loyal friends two to illness and two to old age. Anyhow just before the last one popped its socks our new collie Gipsy came into our lives...an ugly looking bugger if you ever saw one but there was something in her eye that made me think.. 'I'll have that one thank you'
Although Gipsy took the same route with her training as my other mutts I am a firm believer that collies don't make good family pets unless you are going to work them or do something to keep their very intelligent minds occupied. With this in mind I have spent years teaching Gipsy numerous trick which she absolutely loves doing. Little did I know how useful one of her trick would become until I was walking round the park this morning with Gipsy and her favourite Frisbee. I had taught Gipsy to point to things when she wanted something, using the command 'Show Me' Without command if gipsy wants something she will get my attention (as if to say I want something) at which point I would say 'Show Me' and off we would trot to a cupboard or outside to show me she what she wants...clever girl Gipsy!
Anyhow you'll be pleased to know I've finaly got to the point where I can tell you what happened this morning. I was throwning her frisbee 'as you do' but on this occasion a gust of wind caught it which carried it into dence thicket woodland...Oh sh*t! that's another 9 quid down the drain but I noticed that there was a small path to the back of where I thought it had landed so with Gipsy at my side we went in serch...well I couldnt see anything as it was very overgrown but I noticed Gipsy looking up at the trees directly above where she was standing...after looking for what seemed ages I finally turned to Gispy and said ssorry Gipsy I can't see it and proceeded out of the wood. I could tell Gipsy was heart broken (Oh Yes she was) as she kept wanting to go back so I thought I would give it one last go to see if I could find it. On returning to the spot Gipsy was standing there, nose in the air' looking up at the very same spot as before and yet I still couldn't see anything, however it was at this point a gust of windcame along which prised the branches apart and it was then that I got a glimce of her frisbee..I then spent the next half hour trying to find a stick long enogh to prise it out of the tree... which I did eventually manage to do.
Clever girl Gipsy, Clever Girl.
So what clever tricks can your pet do?
Regards

So, have I got this right, you couldn't find a Frisbee as big as a dinner plate yet the dog could ... ?

Keep smiling, it's good for your well being
