Rain not reached this far north yet, but in preparation I have just spread some lawn weed and feed, so it gets well watered in.

It is thoroughly miserable here and apart from the odd day, July has been a massive washout. Thankfully the sun shone for us all last weekend, but since then - and before then even - rain, rain, rain!

I am fed up too! Roll on August 30th and Queen Elizabeth!

Here (central Scotland) it's been four seasons in one day for the whole of the summer (what summer???) a nice week in June has been our lot. When we've been away to holiday cottages in England & Scotland (luckily) it's been dry during the day so could give our dog lots of walks (that's why we go) beach & woods but last week when we were away had to put on the heating sometimes when we got back from the beach to heat up!! Looking forward to the next cruise when we go to the Caribbean.....

You tell them “Happydays”. They don’t know when they’ve had it so good! :sarcasm:

Glad to see that there are others who admit that they live above the wall.

Perhaps now all you sooth moothers will realise that there are more of us than just Lady Macbeth, me, Mrs Krankie and our Alec up here.

O by the way, up here on the Costa del Moray it’s been a glorious summer as all those who cruised into Invergordon this month can testify.

Oh, that's why the wall is there, to keep you lot from tainting our green warm and pleasant land ;)

Costa del Moray has always had a favoured climate. Ask Charlie Chaplin!

Yes, He stayed in the Newton Hotel in Nairn many times. At one time, when I worked in Inverness and lived in Nairn my house was on the other side of the hotel driveway in Achareidh.

However in order to ask Charlie Chaplin we would have to invite our resident clairvoyant from "Down Souf" Stephen to help us!! :sarcasm:

Shouldn't a discussion of 'British Summer' be in the 'oxymoron' thread?
