Re: Scottish Power
Well that's a disappointment. I assumed because it was called Scottish Power:
a) All the electricity coming out of my sockets was that nice green hydro stuff
b) I was supporting the poor people in the far north of the British Empire.
Just saying......

Re: Scottish Power
I thought it was something to do with the SNP!!!
We switched to OVO over 12 months ago from nPower and are so glad we did. We have full control over our direct debits and our fuel bill has decreased appreciably. I feel sure that if we did another price comparison there would be somewhere slightly cheaper (cos that's how it seems to work) I am very happy to stay with OVO who, incidentally, must have the simplest and most straightforward web sites on the planet. No frills, no complicated navigating to do. It's a doddle!!

Re: Scottish Power
Well I’ve got one over on you all. Being up here in the North of the British Empire, as Merv puts it, we are used to hydro power. So I have gone one step further.
After consultation with the Cawder witches, on the blasted heath, I was advised to buy Lady Macbeth a pedalo which I have moored in Hopeman harbour and attached it to a little generator and run a cable from it up to the castle.
This gives me just enough power to log onto this site daily. However, Lady Macbeth does tire easily these days so my computer time is limited hence my sporadic posts.

Re: Scottish Power
Don't know about Scottish power but I am with British Gas (dual power gas/electricity) and have just had my on line bill.
They have given me a refund of £138 paid directly into my bank, still leaves me £110 in credit, and reduced my monthly direct debit from £110 to £86. This is the third reduction since we rejoined BG in our direct debit.
As we have to pay the final balance on our holiday end of this week, the £138 will help towards it, as did the last time we got a rebate.
When I had the meters changed to smart meters, I also changed my dual rate (night/day) for electricity to a single rate, was paying approx 17.54p per kwh day and 5.94p per kwh night rate (hardly used) now pay single rate of 12.20p kwh.

Shouldn't Scottish Power be in the oxymoron thread?
