Can someone cheer me up?

Unread post by Onelife »

Well l awoke this morning with my daughter singing 'Happy Birthday' which just happened to reminded me that l have now reached the ripe old age of 62...It didn't take me long to open my two presents which consisted of a chamois leather and a box of chocolates....with the promise of something special latter from my wife.....can't wait!!! :D

Anyhow l thought l would pop on here and see who of my forum chums had wished me a Happy Birthday.....Nope!.... And l didn't even get a mention in the... 'Congratulations Birthday list either.....Thanks David.....l was only joking when l said l only wanted to celebrate my Birthday every other year...but hey! If you want to redeem yourself how about making me up to the rank of Captain..... lt may help to stem the tears that are rolling down my cheeks due to how dissapointed l'm feeling at the moment

Oh....and a very Happy Birthday to the two who also share this special day

P.s I'll be back latter to tell you what the special present was....

Hang on a minute, me thinks someone's been lying about their age. It was only last year you were 58. Have you just woken from a coma or something.

Anyway. Happy Birthday matey. Have a good one. Hope the present from your wife, or the wife ;) lives up to your expectations

Happy birthday - perhaps you should change your name to 'Oldlife' now.

Happy birthday Keefy. I thought you had already had your birthday this year. No wonder you are ageing fast if you are having more than one birthday a year.
Nevertheless I will be sending you a box of Keefy chocolates to celebrate with. Don't worry about the sell by date. They were out of date when you sent them to me.
Have a good day.

Always a sign that the years are slipping past at a rate of knots when it takes an age (scuse the pun) to scroll down drop down menus to find your year of birth :)

Happy Birthday, Keefy.

No jokey remarks from me -- I know what a delicate soul you are and I wouldn't like to upset an old person on their birthday.

Hi all,

Many thanks for brightening up my day and I must say it has given me a big lift knowing I am sharing this day with friends who are of a similar age to me  or in Mob's case a lot older :sarcasm:

But seriously... thanks for all your humorous birthday greetings all of which brought a smile to my face. :D

I have to say things have picked up considrably since I last posted...checked my premium bonds this morning to find I had won £50....thinking my luck was in and wanting to treat myself I placed a lucky 15 bet with the first one going in at 16/1....three more selections to go.

Not sure what my wife has in store for me but you can be sure you'll be the first to know when I find out.

Talking of Premium Bonds, I couldn't sleep last night so in the middle of the night logged into the NS&I site to find that between the two of us, we won 13 x £25 this month! I had to wake up my hsband to tell him - he was suitably underwhelmed at 2am!!!

We always win 4-5 x £25 but 13 is a record for us. Not the "big one" but a nice little boost.

Hi qb...No...with a luck 15 bet you only need one winner to collect...if you only get one winner out of your four selections the odds are trebled....As I've now got two winners which gives me two singles and one double I have a return of £84 for a £15 stake. If I should be lucky enough to get Alaskan Wing Catterick 4.45 home then I will be into the hundreds if Seve Ripon 7.35 wins then we are talking a few thousand

Now that would be a Birthday to remember :D

Regards

Ah, an accumulator - why didn't you say so?! Well done anyway - good luck with the other two. Keep us posted.

So far today, I've won £50, a bottle of Champagne and a book so I think you are well ahead!

Things are looking up - we have won a night out for the whole office at £25 a head so that makes four wins today

I was given four £1 bonds as a nipper over 55 years ago. Not one has produced anything. It's not even worth cashing them in.

Glad you're having a great day, Keith.
