Bing bot/google bot what are these?

Just curious, sometimes when I log in and you can see at the bottom of the page who else is logged in you see the above names. Are they something to do with the Internet? Just wondered

It's a crawler Vigi, part of an algorthmic process apparently - how silly of you not to know that !!
