Well, I'm still in La La land after that demolition of Wigan
honestly, it could easily have been 4-0 on another day
Most of our teams did well but what on earth is up with Romig's lot.
Another draw snatched from the jaws of victory.

Don't rub it in Barney, we cannot keep a clean sheet for love nor money, anyway QPR at home next week just as they are coming good.barney wrote:Well, I'm still in La La land after that demolition of Wigan

Yes I'm happy! Our first win of the season - not just any squeaky bottom win - but 4 - 0!!
Lovely day out - travelling on coach with friends for over 9 hours - 2 hours at motorway services - very friendly welcome at Guiseley - non-segregated! and 3 points. Who could ask for more?
Home in time to see amazing highlights from Bournemouth game but haven't had time to catch up with league show yet! Well done barney - must be heady at the top!

Hope you enjoyed being in top spot while it lasted, OBF. We have those self same upstarts at theirs next weekend but I'm none too optimistic about your cause ... let alone ours
.
We had another 0:0, where will we be in the league at the end of the season if we average out a draw every game I wonder

No way - 38 points, as per 2014/15, would put us in 17th position, one above the dropoldbluefox wrote:The Championship?Manoverboard wrote:where will we be in the league at the end of the season if we average out a draw every game I wonder
So .... we only need to beat the Foxes the one time and we'll be home 'n' dry

Well for us I guess after the 1st half it could have been worse.
2nd half despite a lot of possession we were too slow in the build up.
Long way to go yet.
Keep smiling

Ramsey's goal to me looked onside. I liked Brendan Rogers' comment this morning that his shirt was offside!

Bournemouth tomorrow. Should be a good game to watch from two teams who like to attack.

We are up Geordie land for the dinner time kick. We don't have a good record when we are on BT at that time.
Will watch the game then tootle down to Southampton.

We have QPR today, I wonder if they will play our old keeper Smithies, I hope so as he was always likely to misjudge crosses.

Re: Football thread 2015/2016
Disappointing result at Huddersfield yesterday. We more than matched QPR, and a draw may have been a fair result. However, our defence (having played well all afternoon) decided to have it's usual wobble - two men went for the same header and only managed to flick the ball on to their now unmarked winger who crossed into the box where it was now two-against-one. Their second man had a relatively easy finish at the back post.
Reasons to be positive though - and if Charlie Austin is worth £15million, then our centre-half must be worth at least half that - Austin didn't get a kick in the second half.
QPR must have laughed all the way back down the M1, at how they stole the points.

I know how you feel Romig - Shots at home to Eastleigh (£astleigh as they are known in our league) We deserved at least a point and they nicked a winner on 93 minutes! And don't get me started on the referee ......!!! Still 40 games to go so its Essex and Braintree tomorrow travelling in hope and expectations!
I think I need to book a holiday.

Re: Football thread 2015/2016
According to the Gills website, Huddersfield have made a cheeky bid for our attacking mid-fielder Bradley Dack
He's got five goals this season so far..
Only 21 but played over one hundred first team games already.
He looks like one who could easily step up a level, but Gills rate him very highly and I expect it would be a few million to even tempt our Chairman.
Roll on six o'clock !!!!!!!

Re: Football thread 2015/2016
That is a possibility Barney. It appears that our ball-playing midfielder (Butterfield) will eventually go to Derby (after several unsuccessful bids) for over £4mill, so we will desperately need to replace that creativity.
Lots of Town fans angry about our best players leaving, but £3.5 million profit in 12 months is too good to turn down. Incidentally, these are the same fans who thought the world was ending when we sold Adam Clayton to Boro - in the same deal which got us Butterfield in the first instance. Short memories it would seem.
I've been impressed at the Gills start Barney...we seriously need some of that at Hudds.

We have said goodbye to many of the first team squad who helped us to get promoted including Tozser, Forestieri, Layun, Pudil, Angella, Ekstrand and now Vydra ... with Dyer to follow ideally.

Looks like we have picked up another Dyer from Swansea on loan and Liam Moore has gone to Brizzle City on loan.
