Made up

Unread post by gfwgfw »

This very morning my "dog and bone" barked

It was my friendly Indian ? gentleman and caring 'puter adviser again

So, with little else to do I went along with his concerns for the health of my best friend

So we went on a long journey of clicking and refreshing

After a long silence I asked

"What next"

Hesitating . . . the answer was . . . "Sorry, I have never been so far before" and rang off

I'd love to string one along to the point that I say, "well something's wrong as you can't connect to me, what's your IP address and I'll connect to you"....

My FIL usually responds to scam calls by putting on a dithery voice and saying he'll just go and fetch Matron...

Yes we had a Chinese one last week! I said "I'm sorry but I work for the British Security Services and I am not allowed to give access to my PC to anyone."

Since we got our new phones with 'Call Guardian', these jokers don't even get through to ringing the phone

If you read the Q&As on my link above you will note that there seems to be a way around that problem.

haha we just purchased the big button one as oh eyesight is atrocious. Strangely enough we have had quite a few nuisance calls since installing it - haven't activated the call blocker bit as never needed to in the past. May need to trial it if they persist!!!!

We have TPS & X directory with BT. This is supposed to stop companies calling, yet BT seem to be the biggest offenders, regularly calling trying to sell me their broadband packages.

The next time they call I'll tell them as much as well.

We had that for a while but they will stop if you ask them to else change ' preferences ' in your BT Account ?

Where do I find the 'Preferences' section Moby. I've had a look and can't see it.
