Boy, do I feel ready for a holiday

Unread post by barney »

Still nine bloomin weeks to go but I'm chomping at the bit.

We usually squeeze in a week land holiday early in the year and leave our main cruise one until later.

This year, due to work and other commitments, we forewent the early one so we've not had a break since October last year.

I'd be ready to go next week :sarcasm:

We'd been from Christmas to August without a cruise - serious withdrawal symptoms! Still, only 3 and a bit months to the next one....

Yes, it's been nearly two months since we last had a holiday so with all the rubbish weather lately we're deffo starting to feel withdrawl symptoms :sarcasm:

Actually we had hoped to book a last minute deal on Adonia in the Baltic, right now, but the prices failed to fall sufficiently for me to be tempted ... no worries, another one will be along shortly I dare say.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Our next cruise is Christmas, not this Christmas next Christmas 2016.

Mind you we are away from home that much it is nice to get back, and I always look forward to that first time I light my wood burning stove it has a certain magic homely feel about it.

We were on a cruise in May on Ventura, it had a few new ports for us. Then we had two holiday cottages June & July that we took our dog with us. Our next holiday cottage is in a week's time. Then we are going to see our daughter in Guatemala in October have just finished booking flights etc for it, a cruise is much easier to book! The final holiday is a cruise in January on Adonia which shall be new for us:)

I'm currently roughing it for a week with the carrot crunchers in Dalwood, East Devon. Well I say roughing it, it is extremely nice as is the self catering accommodation on the owners small holding out in the back of beyond. Soon be time for a sundowner out on the decking.

Piece and tranquility aaaaaagh. Lubbly Jubbly

Well, that's me totally depressed now with all you lot going off on your holidays.

We can't do anything or book anything at the moment because Ken is waiting to be called for a cataract operation. He was told he was now ready for the op on 26/3/15 and there was a 3 month waiting list. We advised the admission section of the 3 holidays we had booked for the period April to July 11th and because it messed up their 'targets' they wouldn't put Ken on the waiting list but advised us to ring when we got back. They have said it will probably be October or November now because the local hospital has problems due to bed blockers who really should be in care homes. One receptionist made the remark that Ken had deliberately made himself unavailable by having the holidays booked although they were all booked well before 26/3. and the insurance company wouldn't cover a cancellation as he was under investigation when we bought the insurance. We now dare not book anything - it is so depressing having nothing to look forward to.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your holidays and think of us admiring our new fencing which we are now going to use our holiday money for. Some how it isn't quite so exciting as a holiday.

I just could not holiday sans the much beloved . . . but spend hours replaying happy memories of yesteryear

Screwy, you are obviously a glass half full person - that is obviously a good way to think and I will try to remember that.

My dear sir

My mum felt the same way after dad died, but my sister and I encouraged her to come on holiday with us, and she's been now done three cruises, two trips to Cyprus and Tunisia, also Thailand and Spain. Perhaps your family would welcome you on their jaunts?

Oooh, we are off to Southampton tomorrow and boarding the lovely Queen Elizabeth on Sunday. After our daughter's wedding in July, the awful summer we've had here in South Wales and a new baby due to our other daughter in December, I think we need it!

We're visiting in December for a look around prior to a short cruise in January, so I'll thank you not to make a mess, Gill :sarcasm:
