Freedom Dining is my preferred choice. First sitting on P&O is a bit too early for me, but then again the second sitting (served up at 9.00pm more often than not) is a bit too late. Cunard first sitting is even earlier.

NCL has it about right - freedom all the way - more choice for the passenger.

Ordering a bottle of each obviates the problem of which wine, Romig.
Wolfie, I know I enjoy a bottle or two with dinner, but the P&O wine list has approx 100 wines on it.....even Wina and I would struggle with a bottle of each

I omitted the word, 'colour' R. I'm sure you could manage 3 per night, if you tried.
It probably depends on how much wine he has drunk, Wolfie.

Good Morning

One of the many pleasures of cruising is having good conversation with fellow cruisers at Dinner

Therefore my vote goes very much towards the Freedom route

Not often, but it could happen, one could be stuck on a table that just does not gel

Strangely, on our last cruise we shared a table with a couple who we instantly hit it off with, and they came looking for us the next day, and we became very good friends

They lived in Hull, just like my best friend on board this friendly ship

BTW they have now relocated to rural Dorset and they adore my Ferrets :D

We like either second sitting or freedom dining. My husband likes second sitting so he can come back to the cabin about 5 ish and have a snooze on the balcony before having to get ready for dinner. We have also done freedom dining but as we like to build a rapport with the waiters we asked for the same table number each night and mostly got it without waiting. ( we were a party of 4 ) I believe there is more of a wait for tables for 2. I agree the meal seems a bit more rushed with freedom dining but we don't mind that as we are always keen to try and see as much of the entertainment as possible.
