Did I just hear right
Just watching the BBC evening news and I'm sure the news reader said that one of the Al Jazeera prisoners released by Egypt was called Mohamed Fuc*me.

Yes, that's his name.
But that's not what she said. How she kept a straight face I'll never know.

Hey Stephen....presuming it was a woman newsreader then thank gawd she didn't try and correct herself by replacing Fuc*me with Fhan*y then she would have been asking for it.Stephen wrote:Just watching the BBC evening news and I'm sure the news reader said that one of the Al Jazeera prisoners released by Egypt was called Mohamed Fuc*me.

It was Fiona Bruce.
I'd give it to her as well. Roll on Strictly

Re: Did I just hear right
Some years ago on Adonia we had a member of the House of Lords as a guest speaker, who told us of some of the 'Would you mind re-prhasing that' moments from the House. One of these came about during one of the readings of the Sexual Offences Bill. One lady stood up and proposed an amendment to change just one word in the bill. After stating which section, paragraph, line etc, she stated that the amendment she was proposing was to "take out genitals, and insert penis" !!! Not another word was spoken for several minutes until collective composure was regained.

One can only hope they didn't give her a mouthful for proposing such an amendment
