Did mine yesterday, no problems in downloading.
I also decided to reset my iPad, for ages my IPad usage has been showing I had 1.7 GB of photos, although my photo album was empty, this meant I had one 1.7 GB of storage I could not use.
Even although iTunes on my desktop was showing my photo album as empty when synced to my iPad.
First did a full back up and sync of my iPad to iTunes on my desktop computer.
After the reset, I then tried to sync backup from iTunes to iPad, was informed needed newer version of iTunes, downloaded latest version it then asked for backup code, I had no code that I could find, so had to set up iPad as new.
Was surprised although had reset all content and settings how easy it was to recover content, especially apps saved in cloud from apps store, and previously stored website addresses saved under favourites etc, obviously had to re enter passwords etc.
End result I now have a extra 3.5GB of available space on my iPad including the previously 1.7 GB allocated to photos.
Note.
With IOS9, Apple have reduced their iCloud storage charges, you still get first 5GB free, you can upgrade to 20GB for 80p per month. Other packages available up to 1TB. So far have never needed more than the free 5GB.
Previously downloaded apps stored in ICloud are automatically stored foc.

Re: iPad Update
Speaking of iPads - does anyone have the problem that I do? When I use Google on my iPad it keeps crashing. I can be in the middle of reading something and then it suddenly reverts to the Home Screen. I've almost given up using it - at least using Google. I did try looking to see if this was a common thing with Apple iPads and Google and there were certainly several people reporting the same thing. My iPad is now out of warranty.

Very rarely use google on my IPad, tend to use yahoo for searching, have never encountered this problem.
Have you tried to re install Google.

Re: iPad Update
Is that the Google app or Google via a browser?CaroleF wrote:Speaking of iPads - does anyone have the problem that I do? When I use Google on my iPad it keeps crashing. Re: iPad Update
Well you can see how little I know - I assume it's via an app - it's one of the things that goes along the bottom of the page. What's the difference between that and the browser?

Re: iPad Update Word of Warning
A warning to everyone who is downloading the iOS9 upgrade, BACK UP FIRST because when I downloaded the software on my wifes iPad Air it crashed the pad. I had to force a restore to factory settings in the end which deletes all your files so make sure you back up your files onto a pc, iCloud or iTunes storage before you start.
The problem doesn't seem to bother recent models of iPad but to be on the safe side back up.
My wife says she's not keen on the changes but I think when she gets her head round it she will be ok, I don't like iPads myself they don't do the things I want from a device.
Carole like others have said Google and other search engines are best viewed from the web rather than having a screen full of apps taking up space, you can always save the URL in favourites.

Didn't have any problems downloading Raybo, and our iPad is a couple of years old now. We wouldn't be without it.

Thankfully my DW seems happy with her upgrade now I have ironed it out, the only complaint she had was there is no delete tab cross to get rid of a tab on Safari.
I told her that if she presses on the plus button the tab will disappear onto the task bar enabling her to have several windows in view that she can switch between so she seems happy (I hope)

This happened to me too, it took ages to restore. Fortunately I have an automatic back up in place to the iCloud so everything, apart from one ir two pictures was restored.Raybosailor wrote:A warning to everyone who is downloading the iOS9 upgrade, BACK UP FIRST because when I downloaded the software on my wifes iPad Air it crashed the pad. Re: iPad Update
Since downloading IOS 9 to my iPad, I keep getting both Email & Facebook notifications appearing no matter whatever tab I am using, have to delete the notification before I can continue using the tab.
Any ideas how to stop these notifications appearing.

Not sure Delboy as I am not that well up on Applecores but I would think you should try:Delboy wrote:Since downloading IOS 9 to my iPad, I keep getting both Email & Facebook notifications appearing no matter whatever tab I am using, have to delete the notification before I can continue using the tab.

Settings >> Notifications >> Email then switch off allow notifications, it wont do any harm to try as you can switch back on again.
If this works it should work for all other applications in Notifications if it doesn't you might try Apple support website but don't let them fool you into paying for live help. Go to the Q&A section.

Re: iPad Update
I've updated my iPad mini but I'm not really impressed. I've turned off practically all the new 'features'. I don't use FaceTime thingies, nor the icloud, nor the Silly Siri. I have come to the conclusion that this world is not meant for me.
And another thing... Apple are calling this new version 'proactive' which is one of my hate words. What's wrong with 'active'?

Re: iPad Update
Yes I did mine a couple of days ago also no problems, just wish I could stop these Emails notices appearing on whatever page I am viewing when using my iPad, such as this morning when viewing CC. They freeze the page until I have clicked on close.GillD46 wrote:I did this one a few days ago. All fine.
Never use to get them before installing IOS 9, before I used to get a brief note at top of page for a few seconds which I still get, and in my mail folder which I also still get. I obviously still want notifications from my friends, but not plastered across a page like this, have so far not managed to find how to prevent them.
When I first switch the iPad on, I also get a shortened version of one of these messages for every EMail received since last using iPad stating they are downloading, once the download has finished I then have to click on close for each Message received until they have all cleared, but this only clears them from the page, they are still in the mail or email folder which where they should be.

I also close down the mail application after using it to check new messages by double-clicking the home button and flicking away the mail app.

Re: iPad Update
Don't use the iPad cloud or Siri, but love FaceTime this enables you when having a telephone conversation, to have a live view of the person you are in conversation with and they of you, providing they are also using an apple device.. On another page somebody's son is travelling the world and she can have a conversation with him and see him live, wherever he is in the world.Quizzical Bob wrote:I've updated my iPad mini but I'm not really impressed. Bob I use the Mail app for reading, replying and sending new messages, always have done but it's only since installing IOS 9, I get the incoming messages, Emails appear on any thread or page I happen to be viewing at the time even the Mail page and freeze the page until I click on close for each message.

Not a fan of pads myself Bob but when I updated the wifes iPad to iOS9 I was impressed by two features:Quizzical Bob wrote:I've updated my iPad mini but I'm not really impressed. Calendar has some nice features
Notes has a drawing tool that even has a ruler you can use to draw straight lines and angles, handy if you are planning a project and want to sketch a plan.
We use Facetime on her pad to keep in touch with family and friends when out of the country and if Cheryl is out shopping for something for me and shes not sure which item I want she will Facetime a video of the options.

My iPad mini has twice flats ended its battery in a couple of hours without me being anywhere near it at the time and now background apps running. I suspect it might be something to do with my Smart Cover not interacting properly and maybe the screen is not always turning off. The Smart Cover is certainly operating differently.
