Interesting point ... last time we went up to the Prem the entire team had cost about 3 million, during this past year however we have paid 1.9 million just in Agent's fees.

That total, incredibly, is actually the lowest of all the teams in the Prem !!!

Liverpool have paid the most ... a staggering £14,301,464

The Grand Total is £129.86 million
As I read the article I understood the figures iincluded the annual fees paid to agents by players and not just the signing on fees paid to agents by clubs, but it did not give any breakdown of the figures.
My figures were extracted from Watford's Accounts for this past year so there is no element of any player's
outgoings.

The following ' report ' mentions clubs NOT player's contributions et voila ...
Mine came from the Daily Wail, so I guess Watford Observer probably trumps it.

Don't I just love national TV news? I heard this morning on Sky News that 'Manchester United and Arsenal have an opportunity to go top of the Premier League this afternoon'................... I think there is another little team sandwiched between them and top spot (who probably, by their thinking, have no rights to be there) who could also go top.
If we could get a win at Swansea this afternoon I'll be over the moon again, especially if Mr Vardy scores as well.
And at the moment Man City are losing 2-0 to Stoke.

Indeed a great result for us, but an equally good result for your lot and now 2 points in the lead at the top of the premier league, and Moby's Watford firmly in the top half.

2:0 ... 2:0 ... 2:0 ... etc   .

Hoping for 3 more points next week against Sunderland but then we have a somewhat more ' tricky ' period vs Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and Man City : GULP :

ps ... well done to the Hudds and those Foxes, albeit not another Jamie day for them.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

When I saw that Vardy hadn't scored, I simply assumed that he was injured, and not playing. :)

Vardy had his chances but I believe he was trying too hard and fluffed them. However he was being carefully watched which probably explains why Mahrez got his hat trick although one looked distinctly offside. They hit the woodwork twice but when luck is against you that's what happens.
And a well done to Bournemouth.

According to Mr Mourinho the Bournemouth goal was offside by a country mile and a penalty was not given

To my mind Bournemouth were much the better side, again by a country mile

Well, well, well, it seems the Wally with the Brolly has been granted a stay of execution, his team certainly played their hearts out for him.

Massive, massive game in League one this weekend

The mighty Gills take on top of the league Burton Albion

As the regulars on this thread will know, ex Burton manager Jimmy Floyd has been poached by QPR and Nigel Clough has returned to the club where it all started for him.

Hasselbaink & Clough are miles apart in football styles.
Jimmy preferring to go for it while Clough liked to stick 11 behind the ball when he was at Sheffield Utd

So, which Burton will turn up?
Clough's Sheffield side were the dirtiest, diving, cheating side I've seen in many a day at Priestfield.
Hopefully he won't come and park the bus but whatever, I still think we'll win comfortably.
Still unbeaten at home by the way !!!!

So three points Saturday followed by Millwall away.
Now, that is an interesting away game.
I haven't actually told Mrs barney that I'm going to that one yet
Thought it would be a nice surprise on the day to let her know :o

Would you Adam and Eve it? Congrats to Claudio and Vardy on their Barclays Manager and Player of the Month awards. I just hope it doesn't bring bad luck in this amazing season for us.
Unfortunately our tactics are now in the open...................

That's pretty much it OBF

They try to complicate a simple game

Give the ball to a bloke in the same colour shirt and stick it in the onion bag.

It's taken us a long time to work that one out. The trouble is there's always at least one miserable b****r trying to stop you!!!

Two great wins for Watford and Bournemouth.
Not so good for Gillingham and Huddersfield.......................
And we'd still be top were it not for a last minute deflection at Man City. :x

Very true Graham, but LVG does say that United glory years are over, and Jose is just having a nightmare, but Bournemouth did look capable of holding their own in the PL.

Bad day at the office for us.

Our captain sent off at 35 mins for retaliation on a foul on him, not given by the appalling Ref.

Burton looked a good side but after going to tem men it was backs to the wall

We contained it to 1-0 then the last ten minutes, really went for it and were exposed at the back, with their 2 & 3 coming after 90 mins.

Roll on Millwall
