How about the views of Digby Lord Jones, ex DG of the CBI? Heard him speak a couple of years ago and he was then in favour of getting out; have just checked to see if he's executed a U-turn. He hasn't.

Probably coz he was chairman of the CBI and minister for trade, whereas you are some bloke who moans about dressing up and prom decks in a tiny cruise group

"We are better off in a reformed EU than outside with no influence. Each year, membership is worth £3,000 to every household in this country."

So the value is in the single market - I'd agree with that. It's what the Common Market was set up for. Not for the bureaucratic nonsense the EU has turned into.

And better off in a reformed EU. i.e. not the EU we have at present. I'd agree with too. If we can get reforms so we have control back of our own borders, who we pay benefits to, and our own laws, I'd vote to stay in. But if there are no reforms I'm out. And Mr Crdiland was careful not to state his position if the choice is unreformed in or out.

Views such as these are not so fickle. The CBI has consistently been in favour of the EU.

Will the winners of the referendum be based on 51% > of the folk who are ' entitled ' to vote voting in favour or will it be based on the Trade Union method of having it based only on those who actually vote ... ie activist ' NO ' campaigners may rule ok in this instance ?

Fair point Towny. My own view has changed over time and may change again if and/or when we see what changes the EU may agree.

I had to chuckle on the weekend reading an article where a Stay campaigner said that 3 million jobs were directly linked to the EU.

So he's seen Cleggs one million and raised him two.

Maybe if he'd said 'looslely connected' he'd have some credibility but ' directly linked'

Now that is worrying because they are practically pulling the strings of our politician puppets anyway.

A big concern to many is the control of immigration but the Germans and other EU nations are starting to get scared of the influx of foreign nationals with talk of shutting the borders. If this happens that might swing a lot of votes back to stay in.
