The Yorkshire Ripper said that God told him to kill those women, and people dismiss that entirely out of hand, yet you say that God has 'spoken' to you. David Icke said that he was the Son of God yet people thought he was a crackpot. In my personal experience most religious people I have met have been hypocrites. My mother was brought up by nuns who treated her, and others, appallingly. How did they square such behaviour with their conscience and faith? Then there are those who are ordained who I came across in my job who held high-ranking positions in the Church yet were amongst those I have found to be the most hypocritical - they were people of fruits - works and actions but yet they were found wanting in their treatment of others. I expect people like that to be the best person they can be - every day - and not behave how they like but then know they can seek absolution in prayer. It's not good enough. I probably live my life better than some of those pious individuals ever will.
And like I have said to you, Mo, on more than one occasion, you judge the truth of the matter by what they do. I am quite sure you lead your life better than those pious individuals you have had the misfortune to encounter. It saddens me, however, that you would tar us all with the same brush because of the actions of those hypocrits.
God speaks to people in two ways: one is for that person to glorify God in a personal way and that would not be made public. The other is to do something that not only glorifies God but is of benefit to a third party. If the claimant's actions do neither, God has not spoken.
Kind regards to you and yours.
