My goodness what a surprise we had. Those 'kids' on stage (assisted by a number of cleverly concealed grownups) were absolutely amazing, their talent shone through. We thoroughly enjoyed the show: the singing, the dancing and the acting were extremely professional, the set design was colourful and imaginative and the show was full of action and drama. It's different but it's a thumbs up from us.

Just do it Keefy. We saw the London production a couple of years ago. Like you we wondered what we were letting ourselves in for going to watch a load of school kids in a kiddy story and the theatre was heaving with the little blighters.

OL, go for , 'Jersey Boys,' if you or your dear half are of that era or just like the music/songs. We're not old enough, yet, to remember them first time around, but it was a thoroughly great show and one we would see again.

The London production is excellent - our niece had two contracts in it, from her Arts Educational Stage School at Tring.Onelife wrote:As we are on the thyme of musicals l was wondering if any of you have seen the RSC stage musical 'Mitilda'. I think it was about 4/5 years ago that 'Mitilda' was first premiered at the Courtyard Theatre Stratford upon Avon and whilst not initially enthused at the thought of watching school kids singing, dancing and swinging from the rafters l actually thoroughly enjoyed the production.
Just wondering if any of you have seen the London production and if so what did you think of it.....I'm thinking of surprising my wife with a return visit...but please don't tell my wife l've said that

Hi wolfie....now that's a coincidence because we were only watching a YouTube clip of the the Jersey Boys the other night.
I was about ten years old when the Jersey Boys were in their prime but knew most of their songs due to my older sister having an enviable collection of 50/60s music. I love all the old songs even one's sung by Ken Dodd, 'Pianissimo' in fact it was this song that l sang in restaurant one evening ..Unfortunately the girl l was dating dumped me the following day.....l've never understood why
Thanks l'll put the Jersey Boys down as one of my must see musical
Regards

Don't get me wrong........................ There's no sadomasochism in it!!! But it's not a sit quietly and clap politely production, much more fast-paced with humour, pathos and energy evoking rounds of whooping, clapping and cheering from the audience. Very enjoyable but going up on stage with your cane will not be permitted.
Hope you are keeping well.

We had four lads who go by the name of "Walk Like a Man" on Arcadia at Christmas - essentially a Four Seasons tribute act. They were superb and many people who had seen Jersey Boys said these boys were even better !!wolfie wrote:OL, go for , 'Jersey Boys,' if you or your dear half are of that era or just like the music/songs. l can't remember that happening when l last saw Mitilda but then the audience wads probably more reserved in posh Stratford upon Avon......l'll take a walking stick instead thenoldbluefox wrote:Don't get me wrong........................
