Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
We did once have a blind cat that I walked twice a day. At first he went out with a harness but soon got used to being out with me and just walked along with me. I just had to tell him when a kerb or wall was coming up and he learned to avoid them.Stephen wrote:Such a lovely morning I might take the cat for a walk

Thanks for the memory jog Merv. Reminded me to check on the excursions for Norway. I wanted to book the Flaam railway as they always go quickly and it hadn't been available until today. We chose to do this through P&O as there are always interminable queues and the bloody thing is always breaking down so we thought if we were stuck up the mountain on an organised tour, we wouldn't have to worry about getting back in time.qbman1 wrote:Me too !Mervyn and Trish wrote:Two cruises now fully paid for. Likewise when we've done it we've booked through P&O. As well as the risk of breakdown, queues etc there's always a chance you'll be tendered in Flaam, in which case P&O excursions get priority and independent travellers might miss the train. We'll probably just wander this time as we've done it twice.qbman1 wrote:Thanks for the memory jog Merv. Reminded me to check on the excursions for Norway. Only been to Flaam once. Last time they switched us to Olden at the last minute, citing "operational difficulties". Ruined my life !Mervyn and Trish wrote:Likewise when we've done it we've booked through P&O. You must be joking - give us a break !Stephen wrote:How's the decorating going. All done yet.
It took most of Saturday to strip the old wallpaper (stuck like sh*t to a blanket !!) and then all day Sunday to rub down and prepare the walls and woodwork. Some of the original paint on the walls from the 1960's was peeling off when we eventually got the paper off. Then a good session with the sugar soap. Mrs C rollered the ceilings twice on Monday and two coats on the walls yesterday. I did all the hand painting around the edges after work Monday and yesterday not Mrs C has all the woodwork to do (6 doors, skirtings and the loft hatch). Should all be done by the weekend then I will have to put all the fittings back and move a couple of bloody great bookcases.
Thanks for asking !!!

I'm replacing all the door handles but it takes longer to dismantle the packaging and undo all the bolts and screws holding them in, to get the bloody things out than it does to fit them !!qbman1 wrote:It took most of Saturday to strip the old wallpaper (stuck like sh*t to a blanket !!) and then all day Sunday to rub down and prepare the walls and woodwork. I have put coving up in the new kitchen diner, and replaced that in what was the old dining room. Wanting a rapid grab adhesive I used 'Sticks like Sh*t' which worked very well. I've never heard it being used for wallpaper though. I generally use Solvite.
