Firefox keeps crashing!

Unread post by towny44 »

Anyone else experiencing problems, it has crashed 5 or 6 times today, and I keep getting incoming e-mails which then disappear, seems as though someone might be trying to hack into their system.

Have you tried Firefox - Help - Troubleshooting information - Refresh Firefox (top right of the page)?
I was taught to be cautious

I think it was a refresh that caused the problem in the first place. Anyway I have been passing my views back to Firefox every time it crashes.

Have you tried going back to the Old Kent Road? Do not pass Go. Do not collect £200.

Try uninstalling and install Google Chrome.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

I supposedly have Chrome on the laptop but it won't open, so trying some sort of scan to check for problems, could take some time.

is it the plugin container?

It was dreadful for a while, then improved, but it's crashed twice in the last 10 mins!

Glad its not just me.
I have finished the scan, WIN10 told me it had repaired some loose ends but not all, so have done a further Firefox restore and now waiting to see if this has cured it.
As a back up I have downloaded Google Chrome which is more akin to FF than MS Edge which is beginning to annoy me with its peculiar idiocyncracies, time will tell.

I am still with windows 7 too.....

I had an adobe flash upgrade notification t'other day. It wouldn't finish cos it said I had some'at open.... I hadn't, so aborted it. That might be implicated. But I can't be bothered to look for it since most of flash isn't activated on my system since it is a security risk
