Talking of holidays. The good lady and I are thinking of having a few days down in Kent so we can visit some of the National Trust properties that are in close proximity there. Can anyone recommend a good hotel. We've had a look but can't find anything that takes our fancy. We like character hotels.

The "off-topic" thread appears to have been remarkably "on-topic" over the weekend !!

Road works at the end of our road. Can't believe the amount of bods involved to re-surface such a small area of road. No wonder the council tax is so high.

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
We had the same with the water board outside here last week. One driving the digger, 5 watching and one walking around with a clipboard. they had some lovely high-viz jackets, hard hats and goggles though !! Mind you, most of them looked as if they had just skipped out of primary shcoolStephen wrote:Road works at the end of our road. I don't like my dinner looking back at me so I would certainly avoid one that tries to hold a conversation !Stephen wrote:Mervyn and Trish wrote:Sunset in paradise. Dinner calls
