Went to 'Arrogate Show last year but it is a bit of a trek for us to do it in a day - and too mean to stay overnight !!

It was our first visit and I must say I was a tiny bit disappointed - it's not a patch on Malvern. Maybe I'm too fussy ?!

Never been to Malvern, so I cant comment.

I loved it, but each to their own.
What disappointed you ?

We were going to try Chelsea Flower Show as well, but we will be in Venice clelebrating OH's 60th birthday.
So maybe next year.

I was probably just grumpy after nearly 4 hours in the car Spuddy!

It is a bit more cramped than Malvern and not so well laid out. Also, we were parked on the opposite side of the county which didn't help ! We did have a nice day there, though, and I managed to avoid DK !

You should try Malvern (Spring or Autumn) if you get the chance

We've only been to Chelsea and Malvern, though you do need 2 days at Chelsea to see it all. The RHS also have a show in Cardiff which is on a much smaller scale but a good day out. The one I would love to go to is the Hampton Court Flower Show.

Yes, being but lowly peasants we've only been to Chelsea. Amazing. We went on the train as a precaution against buying anything!

We expect to be going to Harrogate on the Sunday with David, Mandy and Owen. Hoping Colin doesn't spend a fortune. Can't miss me if you are there because of my electric wheelchair and my one blacked out eye. Can't miss hearing Owen, who is now aged 12, and because of his disabilities is very loud and you always know where he is when out because of his voice, especially as nobody strange can understand what he is saying as his speech is bad and he does sign language when not understood.

Maybe see some of you there. Might meet again Sue. Southport is a good show as well.

Billy Elliot was wonderful !!!!!
Tears, laughter....dancing...WOW!!!
I'm not sure if it was because it's about the area we live in, but it was very emotional.
Anyway go see it if you get the chance.
Just booked tickets for the Jungle Book at the cinema for 11.40 this morning...Alex just gone to pick the boys up.. Then I'm baking sausage rolls and cakes this afternoon with 3 year old Noah and 8 year old Olly is going to help his grandad sort his tools out.
Family weekends...what life is all about... :D

What a lovely weekend you are having Sue - I had my granddaughters (8 and 12) staying with me for a week of the Easter holiday without their parents and loved every minute of it

Saw Billy Elliott many years ago in London and agree it's a fabulous show - I love the film and always cry at the end when he comes on stage as the principal dancer.

Oh Sue it was lovely - they are such good company now - we went shopping, to the cinema, did nothing and of course I spoilt them - they stayed up later than normal and what's great is they want to come again - fab xxx

Well the weather isn't looking too good for the weekend
Also had a change of plan, we are now only going on Sunday.
Alex had got a good deal on a hotel in Northumberland , but the only time we could go is this friday..
So we are going on Friday morning, spending a bit time in Alnwick, then going to hotel and relaxing in the spa till its time for Evening meal.
On saturday we will drive down to the crash pad in Kirk Deighton, maybe potter round Wetherby, got a table booked at an amazing steak restaurant for Dinner.
Then an early start to get a good parking place near the top of the hill..next to the entrance..on sunday morning.
Bring on the plants !!!!

Next weekend I'm off to Windsor for a few days..well actually wednesday to sunday...

Mavis and DK ..hope you have a great day at the flowers show..hope we bump into each other to say Hello :D

Ahh that's a shame, we could have had a mini meet with Mavis. She is going sunday.
Well enjoy it anyway and leave some plants for us to buy !
I'm actually looking for a new bird bath..and Alex wants another look at the hexagonal Gazebo things.
The one he liked last year was about 7k :o
So he is hoping to take another close look in the flesh .. We have looked at them online..but he wants to sit in one and try it...
Then give details to a joiner friend .

Don't forget your brolly and plant trolly :D
