EU referendum - Stay or Leave?

Where were all these people now crawling out of the woodwork to tell us we, and Europe, would be better off if we stayed in the EU when Cameron was trying to negotiate a better deal. If they had all contributed then maybe DC would have returned with something better than a scrap of used toilet paper.

Down here in 'The Garden' we have enormous fruit packing plants.
Now you assume that they are for packing Kentish produce, but no!

We import hundreds of tons of apples from Poland in containers, to be packed by mainly Eastern Europeans, working for minimum wage and living in caravans and porta cabins onsite. They are to be sold mainly in UK supermarkets.

Apparently the majority of Kentish apples are exported to the EU. ????????

I genuinely only found this out today.

It does beg the obvious question .........

Boris has now convincingly proved to me that he is an idiot, and by insulting the leader of our long time ally is unfit to be in Government. Even more reason to vote Remain. The U.S. has every right to have an opinion on the referendum and to express it, it wont help relations with the USA now; if you guys win this referendum and that twerp, Boris cant keep his mouth under control.

Boris is right about Obama's intervention in OUR politics. The USA would never contemplate doing themselves what he is suggesting we do. After due consideration, my conclusion is that the whole thing was very, very stage managed, from the tone, to the actual wording.

And I mean stage managed by our Government.

What Obama said was, well, basically you're our best friends in the whole wide world, but if you leave the EU, stuff you!

Any sane rational person knows that this will never happen, and as for 'back of the queue' give me a break, Yanks don't even use that word in their normal vocabulary.

Project Fear at it's very best but it will no doubt be enough to scare many waverers, which was the intention.

I have a sneaky feeling that Obama's intervention could very well backfire on CMD most Brexits, and the out leaning waverers, object most to the EU telling us what to do; so I doubt they will be enthralled at POTUS trying the same tactic.

I watched a prog last week about Switzerland and their relationship with the EU.

The interviewer asked why the Swiss have never joined and the answer was, like the Brits, the Swiss don't like being told what to do by others

I didn't know before watching this that the Swiss have had two referendums on joining and both times, the leaders recommended but the people rejected.
They seem to be doing ok for themselves. They have their own agreements, but the Swiss chap admitted that an economy the size of the UK could do much better.

Me too. Promised so much. Delivered so little. In the coalition he could blame the Lib Dems. This time?

To be honest I think he only promised the referendum because he assumed he would still need the Lib Dems in a coalition, and knew they would veto a referendum. But I agree he gave a far better prime ministerial performance in the coalition than he has since.
As much as I would like a Brexit victory and will certainly vote to leave, I fear it will lead to the Tory party imploding with very little chance of winning in 2020, if they even make it that far.

Try, and I have tried guys, honestly, BUT I just can't believe that anything promoted by Messrs Farage, Gove and that second rate comedian Bojo could remotely be in my best interest.

Being at the back of the line ( queue ) seems to me to be exactly how it would turn out ... apart from Papua New Guinea and Cuba, lets say, who in the entire World is just sitting there waiting for us Brits to pitch up with a one sided trade agreement to get us out of the doo doos.

I still believe that the financial institutions and automotive industries will gradually relocate to Euroland if we exit, as will the Aerospace industries and any other EU joint venture concerns.

Pension pots in these sectors could be hit extremely hard .... think about taking a 20% cut in income during those later years of life ' before ' you cast your vote.
