Morning all you Harrogaters - hope you had a good weekend at the show and the weather was kind. We had a long (and expensive !) lunch at Raymond Blanc's gaff plus a tour of the gardens. Table booked for 1:15 - arrived home at 7 pm !!

Well we had a great weekend!!!
Spent friday night in Doxford Hall and Spa, great food, lovely room.
Visited Amble and Warkworth on saturday, then drove down to Kirk Deighton, great meal out in Sir Dukes in Wetherby.
Then off to to Flower Show early on Sunday morning.
Just a little hiccup when we got there, realised I had printed out last years tickets instead of this years...but we had this years reference number so it was ok...lol

Bought lots of Hostas and Fushias and a mixture of other plants..including a huge clump of bluebells from one of the displays.
Also bought 3 water colours from a lady in the Craft Hall, and found she only lives 5 miles away from us up home...lol
Nearly bought a big wooden sheep called Ramsay....still might yet..I have her card..lol
Also got some bees and ladybirds little thingys to hang on the wall in the garden.

AND....I GOT A LOVELY CUDDLE OFF MAVIS !!!

Lovely to see you again Mavis.

Great Day.
Xxxx

Sue
I thought the Hostas were a bit over priced, given our garden centre sells them for half the show price, did you get them in the late sell off ?
we ordered some new garden seats plus some planters for salad crops and stocked up on nibbles from the food hall :-)

The Hostas were expensive...£10 each for the larger ones and £5 each for the dwarfs.
But some of them were new varieties I really liked and hadn't seen elsewhere and the dwarfs will go in my feature troughs.
We bought a few....of each size..
I was after a clump on his display, but he wanted £40 for it.
Offered £20... But he said no :(

We got some truffle flavoured Balsamic/ Olive Oil in the food hall..and some fudge !!

Had a lovely day at Harrogate. Lovely to see Sue again. She saw me just as we were going in, but should have arrived a few minutes earlier. Whenever we have been on a cruise there has always been some problem, fire on board etc. Some of you know my reputation for there always being something happening to make it more interesting. Well, there was a different entrance for wheelchairs and David got through fine pushing Colin but I got stuck!!! My front wheels got stuck in the grid that we had to go over. It was like a cattle grid but the gaps were much wider and my wheels just went down and i couldn't move. In the end it took three men and Mandy to lift me out..... Coming out mandy suggested I went round a big poster across the grass to miss the grid -- it was full of deep grooves and guess what? -- I got stuck there as well and a steward had to move out a bench and had a problem getting me to that point where it was nearest to the road.... So, I finished the show as I started it - causing havoc yet again. Can't take me anywhere.
Anyway, as for the show itself. Colin bought a lot. Mandy bought a lot. David and Owen kept going back and forth to the car to fill up. We had gone in his big van. Owen had a fantastic day and was like a little angel all day. But, I was a bit disappointed in the content and size of the show. Expected there to be more outside gardens and more proper trade stand displays indoors but I did have a lovely day and bought myself an amber and silver ring in the craft area. We left just before the selling off started as they had already bought all they wanted plus Colin had run out of money, asked me for some more. I gave him £20 note and when he went to spend it he had lost it. So I had to fork out again. Ended up being non stop.
A super day out though and lovely to meet up with Sue again even if for a short time. But we all had things to do planned out for the day didn't we Sue?
