I wonder whether I could tempt the rabbit out with the offer of a cruise to Norway ?

Unless it's hermaphrodite, it will have to content itself with eating my vegetables and finding it's own form of amusement !

The Killer Rabbit has eaten all it can through the bars of the trap (from the outside !!) and is now making a break-out attempt by digging under the gate. I don't know whether he's been successful so I have left some fruit out for him to see if he is still at home.

I can't help but thinking that by leaving treats for the rabbit you're not really giving him much incentive to leave! A bull terrier and land mines might be more convincingqbman1 wrote:The Killer Rabbit has eaten all it can through the bars of the trap (from the outside !!) and is now making a break-out attempt by digging under the gate. They are not treats - it's bloody bait in a bloody trap. He's just a clever little sod who's worked out he can eat it through the bars of the trap. And I've only left fruit out today to see whether he is still there !Mervyn and Trish wrote:I can't help but thinking that by leaving treats for the rabbit you're not really giving him much incentive to leave! Well if it's bait put it on someone else's allotment half a mile away. Seemples!qbman1 wrote:They are not treats - it's bl**dy bait in a bl**dy trap. The problem is, we have fenced him in so unless he has broken out overnight, he can't get to said other allotment !
...and no chance - there's longer odds on him having gone than on Leicester winning the league

This is a silly question but how bloody big is your allotment? If you've fenced him in and he is an average sized rabbit isn't it fairly obvious if he is still there? Or are you growing swathes of elephant grass?
p.s. Leicester win the league? Don't be daft

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
There are loads of places to hide - we have a shed and numerous water tanks all slightly raised off the ground (ironically to avoid giving rats a haven !) then various patches of daffodils and spring flowers. Once a rabbit has hunkered down, it is almost impossible to flush him out.

It might. Just try to remember which carrot it was when you come to harvest time.
