Darts & billiards

Unread post by Ranchi »

Watching a clip from the Hairy Bikers pub programme I saw a small dartboard with no trebles only doubles. As a student (ie 40 yrs ago) I remembered seeing these boards in or around the Manchester area, when we were out & about. I also remember fondly bar billiards tables in many pubs in Nottingham area. Skittles & shovehappeny were also common. Perhaps the most impressive pub game was a full 9 pin skittle alley in a pub in Cardiff.
My questions are; which regions still have the small dart board and does bar billiards still exist in your area?

We had a fully restored 1934 Bar Billiards table at our last house but sadly there was no space for it in Dorset so had to sell it.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I've heard of Aunt Sally....taken seriously by some.

They used to play it at most local pubs that had a garden..
