Yes, we get some of that too ... dead slow cos they have never driven on single track roads nor anything with a blind bend in it.
I would however add that the tractor drivers in our neck of the woods DO pull over to let you pass but caravans / motor homes never do.

Re: Tractors and Caravans
I normally drive slowly on narrow roads if I can't see far enough ahead to know the road is clear, because there's usually some idiot tanking down the road from the opposite direction. It's better in the dark because at least you've got advance warning from their headlights.Manoverboard wrote:Yes, we get some of that too ... dead slow cos they have never driven on single track roads nor anything with a blind bend in it.

Me too.Silver_Shiney wrote:When I towed a caravan and could see vehicles starting to stack up behind me, I'd pull in to let them pass. Simple courtesy costs nothing...

A friend of mine was giving a lift home to two others and was flying along a country road in the dark.' It's ok', he said, 'I would see their headlights'.Silver_Shiney wrote:I normally drive slowly on narrow roads if I can't see far enough ahead to know the road is clear, because there's usually some idiot tanking down the road from the opposite direction. 'But a cow doesn't have headlights', said a passenger.

Re: Tractors and Caravans
Just been out for a while and on the return journey there was a tractor with about a mile of slow moving traffic behind it - fortunately, for me, it was going in the opposite direction. This was on a main road with plenty of opportunity for it to pull over.

I think some of the wurzels take delight in holding up the traffic as much as possible!

We used to but they have ruined her with the last refit. The worst change for me was the replacement of all the lovely wooden chairs on the Promenade Deck with uncomfortable IKEA metal vegetable strainers.oldbluefox wrote:Lucky man.
