Just had a long chat with a nice lady from P&O about my 4 page missive following the fracas with the disruption we suffered due to "essential maintenance" on Aurora. They accept that it was a "communication issue" on board and engineering failed to notify the other departments so the passengers could have been forewarned. They say they have the Fleet Director on the case and he is giving the senior management team on board a bollocking (whether that actually happens is another matter!) to ensure that Merv and Stephen don't suffer the same fate.

Thanks QB.....you're all heart :sarcasm:

Most kind Cubie. So you'll be turning down any compo offered then? Actually you could suggest they bung it Stephen and my way as OBC. We'll be very grateful.

(NO. Not that grateful)

To be honest, we weren't after compo but want them to get it right so we don't suffer a similar fate again. I think we may have achieved that (until the next time). As I said before, we did get a perfectly acceptable hand-out on board (which I ought to keep quiet about because the others were offered a bottle of Prosecco and, when they pushed it - £25 !)

I've already said - we've had the compo but they need to address some serious communication failings (which they say they are !)

Stratford is most definitely NOT "mid north" - not even south north or even north south

Stranger than fiction !

This is absolutely true - a seagull fell into a vat of curry and was dyed orange. What did they name it ? Gullfrazie !!
