Re: Euro 2016
Wales deserved to win the group, scoring 3 tonight.
England had all the possession in their match, yet not a single goal could be scored. So frustrating!

Re: Euro 2016
Absolutely right, Gill. As well as England have played in the build-up, the game is all about tucking the ball in the net and that is something they seem incapable of doing. Even with Woy's 6 changes from the last game, a team of that quality ought to be able to beat the likes of Slovakia every time.Gill W wrote:Wales deserved to win the group, scoring 3 tonight.

Re: Euro 2016
Well England have really made things difficult for themselves as they now face the knockout stage in the hardest half of the draw.
Wales look like they will play Northern Ireland so one of those teams look like getting through to the next round at least.
England pinned three weak sides into their own half for the majority of all three games but failed to win against the two weakest.
The one side that did win against a poor Wales side was sliced in half for the game against Slovakia allowing their one decent player to manage a total block out and ditching England to second place.
Having said that there is not one side in the whole competition that have impressed me so far, the world champions Germany have struggled and Portugal the Euro champs have been mediocre, Belgium and Spain have not shown their worth so if I was a betting man I would have a quid and only a quid on Italy.
Good luck to the home sides anyway.

Re: Euro 2016
Zero!!!! We've got Iceland.
(I thought it would be Portugal until the Iceland result tonight. Great result for them)
Meanwhile Wales take on Northern Ireland.
Well done Martin O'Neil's Republic of Ireland who well deserved their win tonight against Italy.

Re: Euro 2016
Mind you, it would be less embarrassing to get tonked by Portugal (again!) than to underperform and get edged out by Iceland !
Still, at least two out of Italy, Spain and Germany will be out by the time we get to the semis.....!

Well done Wales!!
Please would you shut that obnoxious Robbie Savage up. Please get rid of him, he's an embarrassment to your nation.
Btw, how did the rugby go?
Am off to South Wales shortly so hope the natives are friendly otherwise it could be the first and last time.

Re: Euro 2016
Eddie Jones? Seems a nice boy!!!
We're off to St Brides and looking forward to the Pembrokeshire Coast. We have always promised to go there but it's a long drive from up here so we are having a stop over at Ross on Wye, visiting some friends who live in the Brecon Beacons before braving the ever narrowing roads down to St Brides Castle. Hopefully we will get some good weather.

Re: Euro 2016
I wonder how many sideways and backwards passes they will make when they come across the packed Iceland defence. It'll take them a while to figure a plan out leading to a 0-0 draw and we go out on penalties!!!
Roy, get a grip!!!

We didn't even get as far as penalties. That was dire and they looked totally clueless and didn't know what they were doing. What exactly were the tactics? Unfortunately I saw this coming but hats off to Iceland who ran themselves into the ground, played with passion and commitment and thoroughly deserved the win. It was another great performance by them.
On a more positive note hopefully we will be rid of Roy Hodgson and his negative tactics.

Re: Euro 2016
Roy Hodgson apart, that shower on the pitch let the traveling fans and the country down, Rooney is carrying too much weight and has been too slow since day one. Who's idea was it to let Kane take the free kicks ?, it was obvious from the start that Iceland don't like players that run at them that's how we got the penalty. Rashford and Vardey should have gone on at 2-1 down and I've had 13 year old goalkeepers in my colts side that would have played better than Hart.
Has the managers job gone on the F.A. website yet, I can't work Mondays and Wednesdays though.

Re: Euro 2016
Wales are the only side for us to support now and although they in my opinion don't have the skill needed to get any further but like Iceland they have the passion and guts that England lacked.Raybosailor wrote:Roy Hodgson apart, that shower on the pitch let the traveling fans and the country down, Rooney is carrying too much weight and has been too slow since day one.
