(Don't worry, I'll get it back on topic!)

After Italia 90 and Euro 96, the was a resurgence of England support like never before.

During tournaments, everywhere was flying the cross of St George flag, from their houses and their cars.

But, following all these years of years of optimism, the England teams repeatedly failed to deliver so expectations have dropped further with every tournament

For this tournament, I've hardly seen any where flying the flags and there was no real hope or expectation.

But England have even managed to drop below these low expectations for Euro 2016.

Shockingly bad.

I'll be supporting Iceland in the next round - they deserve their place
..and I was so looking forward to a game against France on Sunday night. I'll be keeping away from high buildings and deep water in the meanwhile !!

The way that people live up in Iceland - their determination to survive and prosper despite what mother nature deals out to them - they have my admiration. From the harnessing of geothermal power to supporting their youngsters and their love of the outdoors - they have my admiration.

This sort of thing is the reason I don't cheer for the other home nations anymore.

Well, you do have an excuse !

I'm sorry, but the Welsh team's "performance" when England were knocked out was completely out of order. Who do they think they are - Scotland ?! I couldn't imagine the England players behaving like that when Wales lose.

The fans, maybe, but I doubt the team would have been so triumphalist - at least not allowed themselves to be filmed doing it !!

From BBC Sport website:

"Gareth Bale is in confident mood over in France
"We've already got one over England...""

Excuse me, boyo, but didn't England beat Wales fair and square ?!

Sue agrees with Jan. The reason we lost was because they aren't being paid enough.

I think that they would have been far worse.

I wish Belgium good luck, if they aren't lucky, I expect they'll be eating 'Miserables' tomorrow!

Bon chance.
