If Scotland left the UK.
So, if Scotland left the uk where would that leave the rest of us.?
Jimmy Krankie has made it clear she doesn't want Nuclear Subs' in Scotland so we would have to find a base in England or Wales resulting in Job losses on the Clyde, job creation in Eng/wales..? RAF Kinloss is our main deterent against Russian Aircraft . Do we close it or make it a soveriegn base.?
A few years ago the Royal Navy's repair yards etc were moved to Scotland creating job losses in Portsmouth and Plymouth..Do we return these facilities back to England..? ....After all It is The Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, Scotland would be an Independent country, if they still require the protection of our Armed forces they would have to pay for it....??
just a few thoughts going round in my head.

Where would that leave the rest of you! On your bloody own as far as I'm concerned given these comments. You need to get up to date with Kinloss as well, RAF now gone and it has a military presence to keep us appeased. At least Nicola is standing up for Scotland's wishes not like the plonkers in Westminster who at the moment are running about like headless chickens dealing more with their own interests as opposed to that of the electric in England.

I'm going to bung her a fiver and see if she can be persuaded to change sides as i think she'd make a damn good PM. Scotland are lucky to have her. Purely my own thoughts you understand.

Re: If Scotland left the UK.
Much as I love the Scottish people I am heartily sick and tired of seeing and hearing the ever-demanding and threatening Mrs Krankie. As an Englishman I found the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood one of the most unwelcoming, almost intimidating of places, so anti English it was quite shocking what was being said in that chamber. Having risen to power on the back of a collapsed Labour vote this woman (and her henchman) have stirred up so much hatred which does not reflect the charm and friendliness of the people I know and have met whenever we have been up there.
Sorry Ian, but that's my personal view of her. The sooner she goes the better.
She got short shrift from the Spaniards today though.

I am Scottish and I agree with you! There are a lot of us who can't stand her! Regardless of what some might say.. The SNP and followers should remember that we have had a referendum and they were beaten the majority wanted to remain part of the UK but like the current situation when they loose they want another and keep repeating it until they get the result that suits them. Democracy doesn't matter!oldbluefox wrote:Much as I love the Scottish people I am heartily sick and tired of seeing and hearing the ever-demanding and threatening Mrs Krankie. I think these people who are talking to her are only doing it to cause even more division in the country! What she is doing only will only work against us, self serving all the way. The SNP are a independence party not a national party at all.
Of course this is only my humble opinion!!!!!

If Scotland left the UK I would be very sorry. 2 years on a ship with an all Scots crew; brilliant times. 8 years in company with a Scottish MD; one of the best and very sensible in business. Look at what the Scots have done for us in the past. Our history is littered with great Scots. Don't go; we need you.

I think it's the same with many countries - the politicians do not necessarily represent the views of the ordinary, decent people.

Re: If Scotland left the UK.
If Scotland do eventually go it alone will we have to have border controls between us ? as they would be if Krankie gets her way a foreign country. Will they use the euro ? and self fund the transition in currency, will they have their own defence system ? and not rely on protection from us. Will they have freedom of movement into what is left of the UK ?
What has Scotland got to offer Europe apart from North Sea Oil & Gas (and whiskey) that the rest of the UK can't offer not only to Europe but the rest of the world.

An interesting prospect with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all muttering about "independence". What if they formed a new Union and England go it alone....?

That was to be expected, as Scottish independence/EU membership will create a precedence for the Basques, which the Spanish would not countenance.

A Scottish referendum, only if the Goverment say so and I can not see that happening any time soon. What we need to be doing is all pulling together and make Britain great again with a United Kingdom. That's me , over and out.

Re: If Scotland left the UK.
Don't you think we ought to tell the politicians that as they go about their own personal civil wars at a time when we need stability and strength. Meanwhile Gladys Pugh and Mrs Krankie are looking to jump ship to satisfy their own political ambitions. However I am not surprised as it just underlines to me what a self interested and cynical lot they really are, despite what they say and are only interested in their own self promotion.Ray B wrote:What we need to be doing is all pulling together
Despite her faux pas with the Syrian migrants (which she expects the rest of the EU to sort out for her) we really need an Angela Merkel character.
Instead of Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland having (another) referendum would it not be cheaper to all chip in and pay for an independence referendum for England? Now that might turn out to be interesting............

Who cares what Mrs krankie thinks, the woman clearly dispises everything that is British and is trying to browbeat the Scotish people into thinking the same.Silver_Shiney wrote:but would la Krankie see it that way?Ray B wrote:A Scottish referendum, only if the Goverment say soand I can not see that happening any time soon. I think that we should care, to an extent, what she thinks - she's dangerousOnelife wrote:

You are right Mr Shiney. ......It just rolled off the tounge without engaging the brain about what an obsessive person is capable of.

She reminds me of a certain Austrian from the 1930's....Egoistic and yes a very dangerous woman.
And Gladys Pugh wants independence for Wales, me thinks she is getting carried away by the Football...!! So if she was succesful what has Wales got ? No mining as such, No Steel works as such....please dont get me wrong i feel very sorry for the workers and the people of Wales but what have they got that would sustain them in independence..i'm intrigued.

Leave me out of it Foxy - I'm an OAP - extremely retired - haven't got time to run the country and certainly wouldn't support Gladys or anyone else for that matter towards an independent Wales - for goodness sake Screwy is right what have we got except for a beautiful country and tourism ain't gonna support usoldbluefox wrote:Give me a minute and I'll think of something............

.............. and your lot have gone and upset the England supporters now. They need to be beating the Belgians otherwise there will be much rejoicing on the other side of the border.
