All the publication of the Chilcot report proves, AFAIAC, is just how pointless these sort of inquiries are, they neither clarify our understanding, nor do they produce any sort of consensus.
They just cost truckloads of money and keep unemployable bureaucrats in worthless jobs.

All words at the end of the day. I very much doubt if anyone will serve time for it. If anyone should be on the stand it should be Bush. Blair was ill informed not only by his advisors over hear but by America. At the time Blair was far too cosy with Bush who said jump and Blair said how high. So yes, while Blair is taking all the flack Bush who is just as guilty is probably kicking back at his ranch somewhere, the arrogant little sh*t.

Blair once said he wanted to be remembered as the greatest Prime Minister of all time. Well he will be remembered for sure but for all the wrong reasons and yet, still he wriggles and squirms. The man has no shame. As for Campbell words fail me but it just shows what a toxic little crew we had on the tiller at that time.
Revelations about how poorly equipped were our soldiers at the time are a disgrace and shameful on those who were responsible for their welfare.

Presumably the 1.5 million people who marched in protest before the war had foresight? And these weren't the usual suspects - reasonable normal people, many of them. Then we have the many experts in the Middle East, who warned of the chaos in the aftermath.

You would have thought that, in the light of the report, that any "reasonable" person would have kept a low profile. But, no, this lot are still relishing their time in the spotlight trying to justify their actions which were plainly just wrong !

Not sure they had hindsight. It's difficult to agree or disagree when you are only being fed half the truth or being fed untruths - something which still happens to this day. At least with Internet you can dig a bit deeper nowadays.

It seems to me that we had a mandate to deal with the situation in 1990 but didn't finish the job, and George Bush was humiliated. Then along comes George W Bush, who decides to save daddy's ego and sets off on the warpath to finish the job off - for which we no longer had a mandate.

And now Blair is saying the world is a better place because of it. Hello?
