Yes, but as it's a foregone conclusion, isn't it a waste of time? With Messrs Fox and Crabb both backing Mrs May, there's no way either Mrs Leadsom or Mrs Gove's little boy can get anywhere close.

Not in the parliamentary Tory party vote, but the last two in that are balloted by the full party membership, so maybe May may not be the winner in the end.

It just goes to show how overly dependent on the EU we were leaving their negotiators to rip us off negotiate the best deal for us.

What a sad reflection on the state of British politics, when we haven't anyone skilled enough to speak on or negotiate on our behalf.

It's because we have been so reliant on Brussels for so long, we've almost forgotten to think for ourselves.

I liken it to the way so many children are mollycoddled by their parents these days - when they go out into the big wide world, whether to uni or to work, they just don't have a bloody clue !

The "leaders" have spent too long thinking as a Euro-state and forgotten how to look after their own - hence the referendum outcome. Must have been a big shock to them. CMD would never have agreed to a referendum if he had the faintest inkling of public feeling.

I think even the Exit supporters were shocked at the outcome, whatever we do going forward lets hope it is a big improvement on what has gone before or we will be right in the sh*t

Well, the FT100 is at a current 10 month high so where is the massive crash predicted???

The £ has fallen but many in the city think that is more to do with not having a government than the Brexit and that it will steadily recover once that is sorted.

At the end of the day, the markets and currency have always gone up and down, and whether we are in or out of the EU, the speculators will operate as normal.

Once the government is sorted out, the single, simple question is 'what concessions are the EU going to give us in exchange for free access to the UK market'

Personally, I'd prefer any tariff free deal, but if continued free movement is part of that, then we'll go for tariffs both ways.
The percentage is negotiable, but I reckon the German industries would prefer something beginning with a zero.

The four core policies of the EU are non-negotiable, so we are told.
We'll see when it starts to hit their pockets.
Someone has already got to stump up £15 billion just to stand still.
I wonder who will step up and contribute more.
Latvia? Malta? Slovakia?
No, it will be Germany, so the very last thing they will want is a massive down turn in exports.

At last, the citizens of the UK have the whip hand.

Invoke article 50 and get on with it.

Just adding my own slant on the present currency crisis; Sterling has now lost nearly 10% against the dollar, so exporters should be rubbing their hands in glee, if UK manufacturers cannot export at a profit with Sterling so low, then their management don't deserve their high salaries.
The outcome should then see production and GDP growing, as well as a reduction in our trade balance, which should then lead to increased market confidence in the UK economy and improving exchange rates, and then back to the status quo prior to the referendum.
Now if I can work this out why can't the city market moguls.
