Re: Oscar Pistorius Sentenced
that may be as you say Foxy
but any decent person would have some sympathy for the rest of his family, they are guilty of nothing
the way some people go on, on here , you would think they were a close personal friend of the deceased

I agree DK, it is the family of the guilty who have to carry the shame and the consequences, albeit they are the innocent ones.
It is a tragedy for Pistorius who has gone from being an icon for disabled sportsmen and women to having his private life exposed in public and being exposed as a liar and murderer. The finger of blame only points one way.

Pistorius' family deserve some sympathy, having to live with the knowledge that their son committed a terrible crime, but their loss is nothing compared to that experienced by Reeva's family.

I don't think anyone doesn't feel some sort of sympathy for Oscar P's family, it must be awful knowing your son is a murderer so I would certainly sympathise with them, such a shame that some can't see him for what he is though and have a level of sympathy for Reeva and her family who will have to live without their beloved daughter for life !!
OP will be out of prison within 3 years he and his families life will go on but sadly Reeva's won't.

But sadly OP's family will have to live with the knowledge their son/ nephew etc is a convicted murderer. Two families have had their lives blighted for ever as a consequence of one man's out of control temper.

Indeed they will Foxy but they still have their son and once out of prison how long do you think it will take them to forget he was ever there

He should have been strung up! Using excessive force and expanding bullets too. He knew what he was doing and who was in there. Speaking for myself, if I hear something unusual in the night the first thing I do is check to see if Sue is there, and tell her what I have heard and what I am going to do. I don't get out of bed and start a fight which might affect her safety.
Sue says "It would be a miracle if you heard anything, and an even bigger miracle if you got out of bed."

No way! She might run off with the burglar! At least I know she wouldn't run off with Oscar Pistorious....well, not now he's in clink.
