I am quite happy with the result and the current financial situation, my investments are up by 5% since Brexit, and my next cruise is on P&O with on board charges in sterling, and I rarely spend much ashore either.
So will someone please wake me when our economy and sterling improve so I can sell some shares before they lose their overseas earnings shine.

Take away the computers of all those retirees who use them in a negative way just to stir up discontent.

If the interest rate is cut that generally benefits the young, who are the biggest borrowers, and hurts the older who are the biggest savers. So what are the young bleating about? I'm waiting for the interest rate rise that Mark Carnage said would result from Brexit before he changed his mind again. He shouldn't be running the Bank of Toytown, let alone the Bank of England

Yes listening to their conversation I could have contested that point, however some of their other suggestions I found sympathy with and would have found difficult to defend

There's a general myth among the young that austerity has bypassed older people. I'd happily give up my bus pass if I could have decent interest on my savings. I reckon we're down about £4k - £5k a year on money we put aside when we didn't have Sky TV, plasma screens, iPhoned, iPads etc etc and all the other stuff young people now consider essential.

Tis a different world now. We just feel fortunate at being part of a golden generation when one could purchase a house at around age 23 and it only cost 3 times average annual earnings, something not available to today's young people. BTW we don't bother with the bus pass. infra dignitatem

It isn't a case of being on the losing side there were after all 16 million of us, and we certainly aren't losers. We shall see who the real losers are in the fullness of time.

I also see that the financial meltdown and social catastrophe is in full swing with Boeing signing a contract which will create 2,000 new jobs...

The UK government will buy nine new marine patrol planes from Boeing in a decade-long deal worth £3bn.
