Re: Euro 2016
Daughter has just rung, she lives in Cardiff. She has just walked home from the town centre as all the roads are closed and she says the crowds are huge to welcome home the team.
She had good news she has just accepted an offer from an American trust bank which will be based in London and Cardiff so she's really chuffed.

Re: Euro 2016
Can you believe the team which came third in their group went on to win it? Ah well, that's football I suppose but the better of the two teams lost. Thankfully Portugal did not win as a consequence of that refereeing error.

...and they only won one match in the regular 90 minutes (and that was against lowly Wales - who also lost to England !). Who says it was right to expand the tournament to 24 teams (except Platini) ?!oldbluefox wrote:Can you believe the team which came third in their group went on to win it? Re: Euro 2016
I still think that, in general, England played reasonably well in the first three games - they were entertaining anyway, but just couldn't put the ball in the net (although that is really the point of it all !). Otherwise, for me, the whole thing was rather tedious and I certainly didn't sit through last night's final, which was pretty dreadful by all accounts.
I suppose the whole thing starts again with World Cup qualifying soon....lovely !

Re: Euro 2016
I think you're drinking on your own there. The whole idea is to put the ball in the onion bag. If there was a prize for keeping the ball to themselves without moving forward England would have won it hands down. Sterling would have also won first prize for the "running like a headless chicken and losing the ball" competition. At least next time we play we might have a manager with a bit of personality who understands how to get the best out of his players and plays them in their natural positions.qbman1 wrote:I still think that, in general, England played reasonably well in the first three games - they were entertaining anyway,

Re: Euro 2016
Somebody I know had Murray to win, Hamilton to win and France to win. He said he stood to make a lot of money so I presume he hadn't just put a fiver on it. I was tempted myself. Typical of the French to let everybody down. Can't be relied upon!!!Onelife wrote:That's the last time l put any money on France, l should have known they ain't got the stomach when it comes to a good fight.....Thank gawd l had an 18/1 winner on Saturday![]()

Hi qb....We are off to Charlecote Park where we are going to renew our NT membership (joint anniversary present) l presented my wife with a lovely bunch of flowers this morning.....just hope the neighbour doesn't notice the gap in his flower border. Latter on l'm treating the two girls in my life to a slap up meal (local chippy) after which l will be presenting her with some things that dangle from her ears.

Lovely - enjoy. Do they still have the plant sales section at Charlecote? They always used to have a really good display of pumpkins in the autumn too.

What do you think to Sam "the pumpkin" Allerdyce taking the job. England manager not plant sales.
Could be a good move?

Now that Euro 2016 is finished, are we allowed top stray off topic without incurring the wrath of the Smurfmeister ?!
