Amber Rudd - Home Secretary. Rude and objectionable woman. No thanks
Hi Foxy....If you feel Theresa is the right person for the job then one must presume she is best placed to appoint Rudd as her successor......I'll take your word about her being rude and objectionable but l like a woman who can boss a man around....come to think of it she sounds just like my wife....squeak! squeak!
Didn't someone say "he'll be the life and soul of the party, but you wouldn't want him to drive you home" ?!
Amber bl**dy Rudd. Nasty woman. Be interesting to see how she gets on as Home Secretary cos that night she lost it big time.
Hi foxy.....There have been a few nasty things said about Boris and whilst l wouldn't describe him as a man who keeps his own council he certainly takes some credit in not retaliating with the same.
I thinks it's up to Boris now. If he has any further ambitions about progressing his political career then he'll have to cut the mustard. He has been given a chance and it's up to him what he does with it. It's certainly a gamble but there's no doubt he is a very capable, if disorganised, character. In fairness London didn't go to the dogs whilst under his leadership. In fact they seemed to fare very well compared to other parts of the country. However there will always be those looking for him to fail for the simple reason he is a Tory and a 'posh bloke'.
If he makes a good job of his post I don't care what he is. Considering what was said about him in those debates by the three ranting women he remained incredibly calm so I can't see him getting his feathers ruffled by any foreign ministers.
Actually I wonder what would have been said had it been three ranting men against a woman? Just saying....................
Anyway, now it's decided that it's Maggie May, with the current turmoil in Labour I guess she can get settled in Downing Street for at least the next 20 years.
hopefully Thatcher lite, will be able to do something about the state of the country and start making a real difference
I hope she starts with foreign aid cuts, NHS cuts to bloated senior management and useless quangos and cuts to the civil service
when we did actually have one of the largest empires ever seen, we only had around 400 MPs and civil servants, so why do we need so many useless leeches now ?
I certainly agree with foreign aid cuts. We send a considerable amount of financial aid to India, parts of which suffer appalling poverty and injustice, yet they are a nuclear, space-race country. Clearly, their government is misusing their own funds and resources, and should be working to give the needy of the subcontinent the care that they need, not sending rockets into space and playing nuclear one-up-manship with Pakistan.
For years we have been on a headlong charge into bureaucracy considering the number of law courts we have (magistrates, Crown, Courts of Appeal, High Courts, excluding the European Courts), local government, County Councils, MPs, MEPs and more lately we have to have Police Commissioners, Crime Commissioners and Mayors, quangos, Trusts and devolved Parliaments and each has to have premises and an admin staff to run them at an extortionate cost to the taxpayer. Manna from heaven for teabag and biscuit manufacturers.
I expect the left wing would be up in arms at the thought of reducing the number of MPs, especially in Krankie land but do we really need so many?
Admin in the country needs to be pruned but nobody, so far, has been brave enough to do it.
