Possibly she already had, which might explain why he needed rent boys.

The world has gone mad !
Back in the day, any scandal involving a Tory was sex and any scandal involving Labour was money.
Now it's turned on it's head.
We knew where we were then.

Re: Current Affairs
I saw that on last night's QT Owen Smith said that if elected P.M. he would immediately "invest" i.e. spend £200bn on various knee jerk programs.
It was lost in other things he was saying and not challenged
Unless he has a very clever rabbit and a very large hat where is he going to get that from ? and get it immediately?
I think he is trying to inherit Neil Kinock's title of the Welsh Windbag

Maybe it's part of what we could save by coming out of the EU. But wait a minute, isn't he the one who is advocating ignoring the democratic vote of the people and is seeking to overturn Brexit if elected?johnds wrote:Unless he has a very clever rabbit and a very large hat where is he going to get that from ? and get it immediately?
You've got me there John!!! Back to the rabbit and the hat.

Cubie's the one with the rabbit....
I'm beginning to think that Master Smith is as dangerous as Corbyn.

Re: Current Affairs
Smith is actually making Corbyn look half decent. I wouldn't trust either of them. Is this really the best the Labour party can come up with?

No - the best are playing "politics" and will emerge after the next General Election when everyone is saying "told you so"!oldbluefox wrote:Is this really the best the Labour party can come up with?

Re: Current Affairs
I watched the programme and thought to myself that we are all the real losers because of the obvious ineptitude of the opposition.
Teresa May must have been peeing herself if she watched that.
The Tories basically have a blank sheet to do whatever they want, with little or no opposition.
Corbyn reminded me of my old history teacher, a nice enough chap, but nobody really took him seriously, and Smith is as deluded as you can get.
A re-run of the referendum. Do me a favour. They would still lose but by a bigger margin.
It struck me that with political wannbees, it actually never occurs to them that they could be wrong

Re: Current Affairs
It's becoming a theme in this country with every election and referendum. Oh dear we lost. Must be undemocratic. Those who couldn't be arsed to vote would have voted our way. Let's do it again.
Mind you that is the EU way.

Re: Current Affairs
I wonder why Teresa May is now muddying the education waters further with this talk of selection, and grammar schools again. We surely need a fairly prolonged period o stability for the teachers now, rather than more upheaval. That, and some education of the population on family values and the need for parent teacher cooperation rather than parent teacher confrontation.

Re: Current Affairs
Quite right. Grammar schools are not the best all and end all. I went to one and would probably have done better had I gone to the secondary modern insteadFrank Manning wrote:I wonder why Teresa May is now muddying the education waters further with this talk of selection, and grammar schools again. Re: Current Affairs
I tend to vere on the side of grammar schools based on aptitude rather than pure selection based on one test. All children are different. Some are very clearly academically biased whilst others will benefit from a more broadly biased education leading towards arts/technology/commerce/industry based openings possibly with input from local industry and commerce. Grammar schools are no more the be-all and end-all for all children but we should be seeking to develop strengths and aptitude. Unfortunately too much emphasis is being placed on rich vs poor in this argument. Surely it should be about opportunity and appropriateness for the individual child.
I fully agree with Frank the importance of parent teacher cooperation rather than parent teacher confrontation. Too little value is placed on the value of education and its importance in promoting life skills for future employment opportunities. The culture in some schools needs to change.
