Disappointed in him. I suppose he has had an offer of some sort, but if his heart was really in politics and his coumntry he would have stayed in politics to make a contribution somehow. Even John Major stuck it out.

He's on record as saying he is "100% committed" to the people of his constituency (it's the next-door one to ours) and that he would see out the full term. Still, there's politicians for you !

More disappointment. At this rate I should become a Jeremy Corbyn supporter; that should finish him off!

Our Dave must have been offered a job with Goldman Sachs or the like.

The irony is that his Ex PM pension is actually higher the his back bench MP salary.

Plus he gets security etc.

Nice work if you can get it.

Leaving the EU would make us quitters he said, and I'm not a quitter.

Yeah, right !

It's from a piece on ConservativeHome, though the author might surprise.
We trust our politicians to tell us the truth. Right?

Tim Farron, now there is someone who makes Jeremy Corbyn look prime ministerial. :sarcasm:

Shoot the messenger huh?

Remember he is the leader of A UK national party, so his words are scrutinised more than most politicians.
He is a guest writer on a Tory web site so naturally he would make sure he is correct.
His words are published by Conservative Home - real Tory heartland, who would never stand for criticism that was incorrect.

We have illegal migrants being apprehended by the day down here in Kent.

There were 12 seen walking along the M2 last week.

Yep! dropped off on a Motorway. You couldn't make it up.

Thousands a week are now getting through.

Border Force, more like Border Farce.

We've got to get tough, its alright these humanitarians saying we have to take them in but a lot of them are young men who have run away from war. What state would we be in today if the men and women of Britain had done the same, ? "wir würden Deutsch sprechen" probably.

Often it is British people who are smuggling them in.

You're right there Frank.

A few have been convicted but received relatively light sentences.

The real problem appears to be the Trucks.

Nothing short of a massive stop and search can solve this problem.
All the time that the vast majority of trucks are just waved through, nothing can be done.
2.1 million lorries through Dover last year alone, so you can see the size of the problem.

Maybe the Border Force should be bolstered by the Para & Ghurka regiments

That's all right then. For a moment I really thought you were having a laugh with me.

Yes the bad times ahead are very worrying. May have to cut down on the number of cruises from now on.

I sometimes wonder if I'm the only person in the country who is not worried about the future.

There is so much doom and gloom about.

I'm very happy with my situation and have much to be grateful for.

I did a Will for a chap last night who is terminally ill with cancer.
He has been given 8 weeks maximum and has a young family.
No, that is something to be worried about in my opinion.

Please, if you are able, pass on my and I suspect most others on this forum, best wishes and thoughts to your friend/client. We all have a lot to be grateful for.

I think you are still happy because the tide has not reached you yet. But it will.

Well said.

Some of us who cruise have no idea what life and death problems are,( in some small way we do as a close friend of ours has cancer), and, some of us who cruise have real problems, maybe not life or death, but life limiting and therefore cruise limiting. Brexit for us?............. actually we can't be bothered and couldn't care less what the future holds with regards to Brexit: the future for some of us, like our friend, is NOW. Maybe some of you should count yourselves lucky and stop moaning about the what ifs. Some of us, and any one of you, may not be here to be bothered.......ponder on that.
